my villagers aren't requesting pwps?

ive been trying the diving method for a couple hours now, but my villagers aren't requesting pwps, theyre usually requesting catchphrase or greeting changes, or just not ping-ing me at all, ive done lots of research about this and i tried everything i could think of, is there something im doing wrong or something different i should be doing? is there a different method i could try? or do i just have bad luck?​

There could be a lot of reasons...
-If you haven't already done so, fill up your pockets with flowers or bells so villagers won't ask to trade/buy things.
-Sometimes when you're playing too long, they won't 'ping' you.

I've had the same problem even when I do these things. You just need to keep trying. :/

heres a method that i used that got me a lot of pwps, first have pockets full of flowers, and dont carry any money. Now go to the beach with a wetsuit on and swim to the farthest corner away from your town. Once youre in that corner wait 5 minutes while your villager gets mauled by jellyfish. After 5 minutes return to town and go run in front of all your villagers. 1 pwp request per day, so keep that in mind

yeah, thats the method i try, but i didnt know only one pwp could be requested daily

It works for me when I just have pockets full of shells instead of flowers, they're easy to come across on the way in from the 5 minutes treading water. And I toss my tradable items/bells out on the ground right where I jump off the cliff so I'll remember where to get it back later.

Filling your pockets with flowers helps. You just need to keep at it, really. Ive done the trick for 3 or 4 hours and got nothing, no one requested a thing. And then I've also had times where someone requested one almost right away. Its just random. Sometimes the games stubborn with it and sometimes youll get lucky

Maybe all the villagers personality types have already given you all the public work projects that you can have. Maybe the public works project that you are looking for cant be requested because you dont have the right type of villager in your town. If you do have all the villagers you need then maybe its something else. Have you tried the money trick? Put money in each one of your pocket slots so that villagers dont want to sell you anything or ask to buy something from you. That helps get rid of a few types of conversations that they could have with you. The catchphrase stuff is kinda unavoidable. Also you dont need to swim in the ocean to get villagers to ping you. You can always just run around town without having any of the villagers seeing you, if that makes it any easier. Just be patient though, it took me a while to get everything i was looking for.

Sometimes I get it on the first try and other times, I get it in a few hours. You just need to be patient.

As others have said, this is something you kind of have to work for. It's completely random, so don't start doing this with the expectation that it'll be nice and quick. Filling your pockets with flowers/shells/other items villagers won't buy/trade, helps. But otherwise, just have patience. You only get one request per day.

You CAN get more than one request a day, but it's very rare.. I've heard people getting more than one request a day, but few hours apart.

It might be faster to just TT one day or wait til next day and do the diving trick since it only happens on rare occasions..

I also heard if you are closer with the villager they might suggest more PWPs.. so befriend them c: and like others said, fill the pockets with flowers or bell bags.. good luck!! c:
