I agree, I also dont understand how your town is "ruined." Is it because you don't have wifi to update your dream code? Thats an EASY fix. In todays society its easier to find free wifi then it is to find free water.

you can tt between the dates april 1st - april 10th so you always have cherry blossoms
you can easily fix the wi fi problem by connecting your 3ds to internet and 4 ponds isn't too much of a problem if you can work around it

japanese gardens often have many koi ponds. Ive been to several in my life and they were always tons of koi ponds. So yes, I would think ponds would go great with a japanese town.
Ugh, I get the whole cherry blossom with azaleas thing.. I was going for that in my second town, all nice and ready for all the pink then realised the azaleas didn't properly flower until after the cherry blossoms. newleafproblems, yo.

well the different flowering times make it so you can have something blooming at different times, it stretches out the beauty.
