This method is so far the easiest and safest way to cycle a villager out. It's also been the most effective (for my town anyway). I highly recommend it!
So when I was first learning to cycle villagers out, I was told to TT a day ahead and talk to only the villagers I wanted to keep . If you're trying to move out a specific villager, talk to everybody except them. Now, this does not always work. Sometimes, a villager you have been talking to will ping you, just tell them not to move. If none of your desired villagers ping you to move out the first day then TT 1 day. Do the exact same thing. DO NOT TALK TO THE VILLAGER(S) YOU WANT TO MOVE OUT. If the villager(s) you want to move out hasn't pinged you on the 2nd day, TT 1 day ahead. Try talking to the villagers you want again. Now, it should have worked, but it doesn't always. There's actually only been one time that this process has not worked for me. Anyway, if the villager(s) you want to move out do not ping you on the third day, TT back to the original date you were on. This is really the only time you have to wait. Wait until the next day and then try the TT 3 day process again. Note that if you are trying to move out a specific villagers, it may take more time to move them out.
Soon you'll have space for your adorable dreamies!
please comment your experience with this method!!!
Usually villager will think to move every 2-3 days unless event coming up. What I do now is I don't even talk to anyone, just run around my town and if someone thinking to move they will be there to ping me. Either one of this case:
High friendship ping
Just move in ignorance
Villager with high friendship most probably ping you all the time
The second 1 I found out when I just got Katt but didn't have much time spend with her cause I have Walker move in after that and busy TT-ing (plot in, furniture in) and she already think to move!!
I actually think it's better to talk to the villagers you want to keep once and then the specific villager you want to move out more. It makes them want to move out fast ~ I did this when trying to get Mallary out and it worked great :3
Not sure if you're referring to me but if you were then no it worked several times when I was getting Chops, Cally and Sydney to move out, I used the exact same way and they were all the first to ping me >w<
I usually talk to my peppy cause they were the one always tell me if anyone moving, and usually will ignore those already in safe zone (so low relationship and confirm they will never move). Any method you use, still be careful is the best =)
No, it doesn't work in my experience. Villager move-outs are random from what I have gathered over the past 4 months of playing and experimenting with my main and 2nd town.
I only cycle in my 2nd town. I have tried the ignoring method and it didn't seem to have much impact. Now, I just talk to all my villagers equally and I don't notice any specific patterns which suggests to me that it's all random. My friendship with the villagers in my 2nd town isn't very high either either and I think it's pretty much equalised between all the villagers. Yet, some have already asked to move out several times, while others have only asked to move out once. Some have also not asked to move out at all. So yeah, it's all random in my opinion and really just depends on your luck.
i haven't tried this method before... I have my own method that i use to move villagers and so far it's probably only 99% guaranteed though because i did lose one of my villagers once.
Yeah but my method doesn't involve talking to 1 villager or everyone..
I just greet everyone once every 5-6 days and run around til they ping but since sometimes villagers stay in their homes, i'll save and reload and run around to make sure I saw EVERYONE outside at least once to see if they ping.
If they don't ping, then i TT back 2 days and run around again and see if they ping (usually they do). If they don't ping again, i TT 1 day forward and repeat the process. I usually don't need to TT that much though.
It really all just depend on luck, but i think its still a good method for TTing and a villager almost always pings you within the three TTd days. But as everybody knows, there are many mathods for cycling out villagers
I would be willing to try this but unfortunately I have turnips. I've heard that time traveling will cause turnips to rot, and I plan to buy a lot of turnips whenever they're available so I really don't want to risk it...
I know that in Wild World turnips wont rot if you put them on the table but im not positive it works in New Leaf as well...you could always have people hold them for you too
