My quest to get ‘Deirdre’ the deer back! Is this possible?

So there seems to be conflicting information online about getting a villager to move back. Now, I am not referring to the ?same? villager that moved who may still have ?memory? of the town they just moved from and bringing them back from the town they just moved to (a friend?s town, etc.). I am referring to a new or ?copy? of the same character that is currently living in another town with no connection to your current town.

Some are saying that you have to cycle through 16 villagers in order to get the same villager type who has moved, to move back. Is this true? Because if it is, I am afraid that I?ll never see Deirdre again. Aside from Moe and maybe one or two others, all my villagers are permanent residents (or at least for as long as I can hold them). Therefore, this can take a very long time ? if ever.

If you do have to cycle through 16 villagers, is it from the point that the villager in question moved, or all villagers who have moved out and moved in from the start of the game (in this case, June 9th, when I started ACNL).

In short, does anyone have any experience with getting the same villager character to move in after the same villager character has moved out? Any information would be greatly appreciated!

You have to cycle through 16 villagers no matter what.

It's sixteen from the villager in question, not sixteen from the beginning of the game.

I guess I am going to have to move on. Perhaps getting Fauna to move in will fill the void! Along side cats and squirrels, I love the deer in AC!
