When you listen to music, what do you really listen to? Do you listen to the words he/she is singing? His/her's voice? The beat? The rhythm?
What matters most to you?

And the beat, because I usually tap to it.
When I listen to music, I look into more of her/his/their voice.
Plus, the vibe that the beat and melody give off.
Lyrics. I won't listen to a song with shallow lyrics. The song has to mean something to me. It has to convey a message.
The music has to be good, too, of course.
lyrics and beat. I like songs with meaning, but not all songs have lyrics so the overall "sound" must appeal to me too.
I guess the first thing I hear is the singer's voice, unless the song has a really cool instrumental opening. :> Then I listen to the lyrics.
The beat, the rhythm, and the lyrics.
GUESS WHAT? RHYTHM HAS NO VOWELS IN IT! ;D;;D;D;D
A mixture really, but lately I've only cared about the beat.
I like music and lyrics. I'll overlook ho-hum music when the lyrics are great - Owl City for example. I'll do the inverse as well:
Twister-Remix.
No manufactured love songs, though! UGH! The really bad ones can all be summarized like: AND LIFE IS SO FEELINGFUL
AND LONELY
WITHOUT YOU
AND I'M LONELY
WITHOUT YOU
AND MISS YOU
WITHOUT YOU
WITHOUT YOU
WITHOUT YOU
WITHOUT YOU
WITHOUT YOU
WITHOUT YOU
I will
never listen to
those!
First I listen to the beat. Songs with a good beat to dance to is my kind of music. And then, I listen to the Lyrics and voice. Voice does wonders to make a song flow and lyrics are so important if the song is getting a point across.
Depends.
Sometimes I just listen to it and sometimes I focus on all the instruments to appreciate the artist truly.
What is a man? A miserable little pile of secrets!
The beat and rythm, since my fav genre is rock,i just like listening to the air guitar and drums xD.
I like songs with feelings or emotions, and the beat as well (gotta love a song that's fun for you to listen to
).
Lyrics/singer's voice first.
Then instrumental, though I tend to get turned off it is overly techno-ish.
Beat, Sometimes voice, but rhythm mostly.
I listen to everything in the song. And there are some that make me cry no matter how many times I listen to them.
