Ok. So, we all know, the music was meant to be calm, and relaxing, but there are times where we get bored of the music that we have to listen to our playlist. Even I was getting a bit bored of the main theme song (despite not having a Switch).

What song do you really like to listen while you're playing Animal Crossing?

I typically listen to/watch YouTube whole I play. If I do listen to music I use YouTube for Mario Kart 8’s Wild Woods or meme music (I managed to accidentally sync up Pascal appearing to the memetic portion of Golden Wind)

i typically don’t listen to music as i play animal crossing but instead, i’ll watch videos on youtube, typically of animal crossing gameplay aha - i especially like to do this while island hopping, looking for a specific bug/fish or just doing my daily tasks as it makes it more bearable ^~^

Usually I have a stream going in the background. Most of the music in my playlist doesn't put me in the right mood for animal crossing anyway...

I usually don't listen to the soundtracks ;v; I don't like znew Horizon's music at all.

I’ve recently gone down the YouTube rabbit hole of listening to “slowed + reverb” covers of popular songs. They’re very relaxing but I find them engaging enough to keep me focused on tasks in Animal Crossing. Highly recommend!

Usually whatever I'm listening to at the time, no specific songs or albums. Lots of the time it's dream pop that I have playing, which goes nicely with the chilled, summer vibe of the game.

I use a monitor that doesn't have any built in speakers, so I don't get to listen to the music in New Horizons. I listen to classical music, new age, trance, house, techno, electro house, ambient, 80s synthpop, 80s new wave, and synthwave.

Either listening to some Let's Play (with commentary) or mainly 80's music. This one was also playing for a while in the background, made me sometimes felt more relaxed while playing the game in the afternoon.

Someone already mentioned lo-fi, which I think goes with Animal Crossing very well.

Rather than an entire genre I'd like to throw out a few artists I think match well. All of these artists are on Spotify.

Melody's Echo Chamber
xxyyxx
Sakanaction
Jack Stauber (very depressed lyrics warning)
Dab Never
Ben Rosett
Tobi Lou

I used to always listen to NH itself but it got super boring! Now I usually throw on spotify and let it do its thing. Somehow it always pix music that doesn't match the game, haha! But I do sometimes do lo-fi playlists that feel right for the game. There's tons of AC-inspired playlists out there!

I think I'm the only person in the world who never gets bored of hearing the music in-game lol :P

If by some odd chance I'm just not listening to the music at all then I'm usually either watching TV or watching a youtube video. I never really turn on any other music when I'm playing Animal Crossing.

I said this before in another thread but I really miss how funky and weird the music in the GameCube game was. I totally understand the move away from that at the game's art style and even atmosphere changed with time, and I know the original soundtrack can be a divisive topic sometimes, but some of those tracks slap and how people are able to appreciate lo-fi hip hop, meme rap, and hyperpop while not appreciating some of the original GameCube tracks is beyond me.

If I think of more artists that suit the mood of Animal Crossing, I'll make another post here about it. Music is one of my things~

I don’t listen to music! I usually watch streams or videos while playing with the game’s music turned on :)

I just listen to my pop playlist. But more often I watch something on YouTube or Netflix while playing.
