multiple villagers of the same species

It’s not a big deal for me unless if it’s a species I don’t like.
I have 2 horses and 2 cats in NH, and it’s not a big deal.

I tend to go towards different species rather than same species. I have a specific color combos I try for and there is rarely the same colors within the same species.

I only wanted a max of one of each species but then I ended up with two sheep. I've had Pietro from near the start (he was my first campsite villager) and struggled finding an uchi villager I liked until I met Muffy. I decided I'd try it out having the two of them and it hasn't bothered me so far. I've put their houses next to each other and made it into a little sheep community. I might even get another one. I love the sheep!

I don't mind having more than one of the same species, it doesn't bother me at all. If it's a villager I like, then I keep them all. I'm not sure if I remember this correctly or not, but I think once I had five different cat villagers in New Leaf and I was totally fine with it. :)

I planned to have no repeats, but I just couldn't help having only Punchy OR Rudy in my island. I MUST have both of them. So I told myself, screw it.

I tried to have 2 of each species and 2 of each personality though ofc Graham and Raddle don't fit into this at all :p I like it this way and it doesn't bother me!

I didn't want more than one except for my two koala dreamies, but it looks like I'll end up with two eagles too, and it bothers me a little. I had four rabbits in each of my New Leaf towns and wanted more diversity this time. xD

It depends, I guess. In my old island prior to resetting, there was a time I had five cubs (Maple, Stitches, Bluebear, Judy, June) at the same time. At first it was okay, then after a while I started to get bored of seeing them. I also had three wolves one time and I didn’t enjoy it so much so I had to get rid of one. However, there was also a time I had a lot of squirrels but that didn’t really bother me much. Now in my new island, I’ve been getting a lot of cats. So far, I don’t mind and I’m pretty happy. So I guess, it depends also on species. Some we may subconsciously tolerate more than others?

I agree with those who say it depends on the species. I have one monkey villager, Tammi, and she is so sweet and cute. But because I'm not a big fan of the species, I wouldn't want more than one monkey at one time.

Conversely, I do at the moment have two dogs (Marcel and Daisy), and at a time had two eagles (Pierce and Celia) and two cats (Tangy and Felicity), but I love those species so its not a problem for me. Having said that, I wouldn't want more than 3 at the most of one species as I do enjoy variety.

My bf intentionally pairs two of the same species of the opposite sex with each other and I’ve poked some fun at him for it. It’s a cute idea, I just personally prefer keeping my island diverse (I went crazy when I had Bianca and Claudia at the same time)

i currently have 4 wolves. while only 2 of them are permanent, i’m not bothered by having that many of them. wolves are one of my favourite species and as long as i love a villager and have a good connection with them, i’m not worried about what species they are ;u;

i have 7 cats 2 octopus and one squirrel lol
each one of my cats has a different perso so all of them feels unique -
the 3 non cats are the same perso as some of the cats but they feel different because they are different animals.

I personally have 2 cats (Raymond and Punchy) and also want Rosie and Lolly buuut I really want all different species! So I think it’s just down to personal preference! So many cute villagers we need more spots😭

I don’t mind having two of the same species; the variety of personality types is more important to me

I wanted to have two of each species because I knew I wanted both Tom and Moe on my island, but then I ended up with 4 squirrels. I moved out all of them except Poppy as I have now accepted that I want to fill my island with cat villagers.

I think it depends on the villagers and how you interact with each. I have 2 cats and 2 squirrels, with no problems. Not sure I'd want an entire island of all one species, but that's me. I'd maybe give them a try and see how they fit into your island with the others before dismissing them out of hand.

Personally I... *try* to go for species diversity, but I value the individual villager over the species every time. <3 I have a pretty diverse setup just by chance but I do have 2 alligators... but I'd be heartbroken to lose either Del or Drago ;A; so I just have them both THE ENDDDD hahahha.

I'm also like super creeped out by the monkey/gorilla folks mostly >____> No offense to them and/or their fans but they just... weird me out. So I'd go dupe cats or frogs or whatever over scary monkeys in Erinland ppppretty much anytime ;A;

I'll try to get different species, but meanwhile I have 2 wolves and 2 ostriches. And I just know that if I had the chance I'd have a lot of cats 😅

if they look too much alike, i get sick of it that i want variety. but for some reason this doesn't apply to cats lol. i guess because they are designed so differently?
