My villagers continuously tell me they are going to move, but then on that second checkpoint, decide they?re going to stay in my town, even though I?m encouraging them to move. It is SO FRUSTRATING, as I just want some new faces in my town. Is there any reason for this? Any way to discourage them from this, or am I just relying on the whims of dumb cartoon animal AIs?
Well, there is always the option of time traveling to their moving day, but that will just be if your a time traveler, and they won't change their minds about moving.
Don't talk to them once they've told you they're moving. If you do talk to them after they've told you they're moving and they change their minds, quit the game without saving and either go back and talk to them to make sure they are moving or don't talk to them again until they are in boxes.
It's best to avoid the villager after they ask to move. If they change their mind you can leave the game without saving and start it back up.
Right now I have one villager trying to ping me all the time. I just stand still and wait for the villager to walk away.
