Move Islander/Villager Home Glitch? :(

I think my game is glitched!

I moved Chevre's spot to the beach, and now her map marker is on the beach,
but there's a house at the top of the island not assigned to anyone, and it says "I'm not home right now - Chevre"

Any thoughts or suggestions?

This really bums me out

This. The house will remain in the original location until 5 AM on the following day, where it will move to the empty plot.

The text "I'm not home right now" is what's displayed on normal villager's doors when they're out and about.

In other words, the real house is on the beach location and fully decorated AND the top location. It's in both spots fully constructed

I’ve never heard of that glitch before, I’ve got a villager’s house moving location tomorrow so that’s worrying

No, I got her naturally - I'm going to move her house again in hopes it will "reset"

It might be related to the glitch for villagers who were forced to move out due to Amiibo.

Tell us if that fixes it or if that gives Chevre a third house xD

I dont know if this guide will be helpful but you can try it out if you want, it's for the "i've moved out" glitch

The guide originally was for players to be able to remove any villager of your choice without having to TT 5/15/etc. days at a time. But it's been shown to be able to remove plots that are glitched with "I've moved out". Credit where credit is due: This has been done via a few threads in...

No, I got her naturally -- hmmm this is so odd. I'm gonna see if moving her house works, if not then I'm forcing her out via amiibo but i'm afraid of more glitches lol

OUCH thats uhhh pretty bad. Is Chevre anywhere to be found?
the only thing i can think of is if someone youve been in contact with had a Chevre in their void and it conflicted with your natural Chevre moving to a different spot on your island. BUT that's a complete guess because there's been a lot of issues directly relating to the void, and apparently we're still finding out things about it.

So it didn't give me 3 houses, it just went to the brand new location I made. I guess I'll ignore the glitched one? It's in the corner so I can work around it

Yeah, I just found Chevre! She's acting normally. This game is SO glitchy and bugged it's on my last nerve. Why Nintendo? XD And there' s a chance this may never be resolved EVER unless: 1. nintendo does an update that un-does it OR 2. Chevre moves out and someone else moves in

Did you wait 24 hours before placing down her new plot?

By this, I'm asking if you picked up the plot from Tom Nook, saved and quit the game, then the next day placed down her plot? I remember reading a similar situation on a different thread.
