Most overrated/underrated villagers?

We all have different opinions and preferences when it comes to which villagers we like, and there are a lot of villagers who are almost universally loved and some that no one seems to talk about. In your personal opinion, which villagers do you feel are overrated/do you not understand the popularity of? And which do you feel deserve way more love in the community?

Personally I?m not a huge fan of Marshal and Stitches - I understand the popularity of the latter a bit more as his design is really cool, but I?m not as in love with him as most others seem to be. I also think the sheep villagers (except from Muffy and Etoile who are pretty popular) are super underrated and adorable, as are the kangaroos.

cat villagers like Bob and Rosie are overrated. I think Spinkle the penguin is really underrated.. a lot of people dont even know about her but she will always be my favorite villager and my ac bff.

Hm I personally love marshal bc he is so cute. I agree on sprinkle she is one of my favorites and I’m never letting her go. I do wonder why no one ever talks about her shes a ball of sunshine

Leopold is super underrated... he's such a precious bebe T__T

Also I think Beau is very overrated, I don't see the appeal in him at all. Same goes for characters like Bob.

Beau is not the cutest out of the deer either, I personally love Erik more. And I am completely confused at why everyone loves Bob, maybe cause he's unique? He doesn't look cute at all to me.
My favorite villager is Antonio, he's way underrated in my opinion, he's the cutest little guy ever. Such a long snoot, such a fluff tail.

Angus and Tucker have always had a special place in my heart lol, and I think Nan is pretty underrated as well, at least from what I've seen (or haven't seen, rather) on here.

Yeah, I definitely prefer Erik over Beau as well.

I think Diana and Beau are kinda overrated, same with Marshal.

There are lots of villagers which are underrated. The super hero villagers (Kid Cat, Agent S, Big
Top and Rocket) for example needs more love. They are so unique from their look and such, like
the idea of having villagers that represents super heros is pretty nice, like they are Power Rangers
of the Animal Crossing universe if you would like to see that way. Kinda don't understand why they
don't get more attention.

I won't mention villagers I like who I understand why they aren't super popular. For example, I like Moose, but I understand a lot of people don't like his face.

Personally I would have expected Celia to be one of the top tier villagers. She has a good design, a great house, and she's an eagle, a relatively liked animal.

Walker almost seems like a dog counterpart to Lolly so I expected more people to like him. From what I've seen, most people seem to forget he exists.

I kind of expected Chadder to be more popular than he is. After all, the food based villagers tend to be quite popular. Perhaps it's due to his mouse species, which is one of the least popular right now. A lot of people like cheese though, so maybe he just got unlucky.

I think Filbert is underrated, he's just the cutest! I also really like Bill, he's such a cute duck.
I had Beau in my town, I think he might be the villager that comes to my mind when thinking about overrated villagers..

My girl Tutu needs more love imo. I also like Bruce, he and Midge we good friends back in New Town. As far as over rated, Marshal def, and I used to be on that Marshal hype.

Does anyone love the pig villagers like I do? Spork is one of my favourites, a) because I like "natural" coloured villagers, and b) he looks like such an adorable doofus. Is Cole a popular bun-bun? I love how he and Dotty have such vacant expressions lol, I like pairing them together in my town. Also, the chickens. Ava + Goose for LIFE.

I kind of like Spork. I haven't had him in my town but I would definitely be willing to. Personally, I love Hugh. I had him in Gamecube and he is by far my favorite pig villager. Sue E. is also good, though I understand why people wouldn't like her.

It’s confirmed (I believe by Nintendo?) that they are sisters, so it’s like you can’t have one in your town without the other kinda deal which is why I think everyone when they have Francine and Chrissy it’s cute, as the siblings are no longer separated

I never knew beau was overrated, all I knew is that he was a cute lazy deer that came as a random move in (this was in 2014) filbert is cute too, its interesting that he wore a vogue dress in earlier games

Underrated, hmm I have a few but it’s more of my preference, they are Keaton, Cheri and hamlet

Overrated, while I didn’t know at the time was marshal (it’s kinda like how people said Undertale overhyped and yet I saw nothing of the sort, heck, didn’t even know it existed until I saw papyrus showing some in game dialogue) I can probably see why he was, but honestly, small cute villagers are my weakness (but I do like my variety)

Honestly I don’t care if they’re overrated or not if I like the animal, I like the animal

Totally agree on Bill! He is one of my favorites, and makes the jock personality cute instead of annoying for me. I think as far as underrated goes for Kabuki the cat and Dizzy the elephant. Both are just so adorable I love them. I've seen a lot of people rave about Pietro, but I find him kind of creepy.

+1 for not liking Francine and Chrissy. I couldn't care less if they're sisters or w/e, they look weird and I don't like them. I also agree with Celia and Sprinkle being underrated. Sprinkle especially, she's like my BFF in my town.

My original contribution is I can't understand how any of the octopus villagers are popular. I think they all look weird and off-putting, but Marina and Zucker remain ever popular.
