Most distinct memories of new leaf

I remember my sheer excitement from getting Marshall from a random move-in. He was my #1 dreamie at the time, this was way before amiibo cards and I had no other way to get him. I went nuts over him.

I also fondly remember getting Wolf Link and the other Zelda items. Midna's mask was my favorite thing ever. Twilight Princess was my favorite game of all time at the time. I wish those items and villagers could've made a comeback

Also, the excitement of Gracie finally coming to do fashion checks, or the tree reaching it's maximum size. I would love to see the tree concept return in a future game cause it was really nice to watch it grow with your island.

In my first game Daisy was my best friend and favorite villager for months, and I accidentally time traveled a bit too far (or didn't play for a while, I can't remember exactly) and she moved out. I was SO upset I straight up deleted my game and started over two weeks later lmao. My poor teeny bopper self

Also, catching bugs with my friend for hours on Tortimer's island. It was so fun and so easy to make money!

I remember one day deciding to go online and farm a lot of the medals from the mini-games so I could buy the whole mermaid set. I wanted to do something special for one of my friend's birthdays and they really wanted the set so I thought it would be nice. Some random player joined and helped collect the medals and bought two mermaid chairs to gift to me to add to the b-day gift. I didn't ask them, but they insisted. It was such a random act of kindness that I still remember all these years later. Wherever you are, I hope you're doing great.

This will sound really silly, but in my first year of playing New Leaf, I remember my birthday was coming up. I, for whatever the reason, couldn't sleep well during the night of my birthday because I was so tense to guess who was hosting my birthday party. Silly, yes. The host ended up being Jay, and it was a welcome surprise.

Oh I have a couple that I can think of off the top of my head.
Me doing everything I could to kick the clown sheep outta my first town and instead of him leaving, Pietro became my favorite villager after Sprinkles and I apologize for all those times I hit him with a net.
My first trip to tortimer island and learning very fast how sensitive those beetles are to movement. As well as always listening to Knappn's songs.
In a later save Rooney coming over to my newly built house and calling it a dump because I had nothing in it.

One time (only a few months ago lol) I got a turnip selling price of 427 bells and absolutely freaked OUT (up 'til that point I thought the max was around 250), so I immediately went to a Discord server I was in, went right to the channel where people ask to play online with others, noticed people were looking for solid turnip prices, and announced mine. I began friending a few people and opened my gates... for nothing to work, people couldn't come in. We did some investigating and in the end it turns out the particular kind of connection I had wasn't supported, and since I was living in a university dorm building it was impossible for me to configure the Wi-Fi and get it to work. It was kind of sad I couldn't have people round in my town and let them sell their turnips at four hundred and twenty-seven bells, but looking back it is somewhat funny in a disappointing way.

i have SO many. i started playing this game almost 11 years ago which is crazy to me. i never once reset my town, so my save file still has lots and lots of memories packed in it.

for now i'll just share a couple related ones. after an unwelcome void move-in from boone, who remains my animal crossing nemesis, my attempt to get him out resulted in a chain reaction of me losing 3 of my bear cubs. (my town in new leaf is all bear cubs. before boone moved in i was trying to adopt bluebear from someone...) i was about 16 i think (i'm 24 now), and i had a serious meltdown over this. i made some long, ranting, angry and heartbroken posts that i believe are still on these forums if you dig deep enough. i'm grateful to everyone on these forums who was giving me sympathy and encouragement even as i was throwing a massive tantrum over my animal crossing game.

in order to get my cubs back, i had to cycle villagers. i spent what i believe was the entire next day time traveling and cycling villagers, following a very specific guide (i think i had taken one from the forums, then modified it to be more useful to me. i still have it in my phone notes app.)

one thing i think is funny looking back is, toward the end of my cycles, marshal moved in. this was around when villager trading in new leaf was at an all-time high on this forum, so of course when i saw his name my first thought was "oh i am gonna make SO much money." and i was right. my marshal money has kept me a multimillionaire in new leaf to this day.

it was genuinely stressful at the time. but i do think it's funny to look back on now. it was truly one of my most autistic moments of all time. (i'm actually autistic, to be clear, i'm not using the word to self-deprecate or whatever.)

Sitting on the island in the evening as that calming music mixes with the waves, and the first time I remember getting blue roses, I’m currently on a new save making more, and this time I’m actually going to keep playing after I get them.

Cycling villagers to move into an exact plot/changing the time to see where they moved in and soft resetting is the spot wasn’t good. My god I remember once I was moving a villager in (I think Epona?) and they moved into sliiightly the wrong spot, I had set the time wrong accidentally. I spent hours cycling through however many other villagers until she could move in again in the correct spot. Crazy

There was one time where I encountered a hacker who was willing to give me 1 million bells. I was stoked!! I deposited it all in the ABD...
