based on the little we've seen, i'm not really excited for either. they've only shown us the bare minimum re: event mechanics (deliver presents on toy day, collect pumpkins for franklin) and it's hard for me to be excited about either when they seem like heavily watered down versions of the NL events so far. obviously there might be more to them than we've seen. if, hypothetically, the mechanics carry over from NL, i'd be more excited for "turkey day". toy day was essentially a month long event, since you had to collect clues from your villagers beforehand, but the day itself was pretty simple and you had to jump through hoops to get the santa bag, i.e. what i consider the best item from the holiday. collecting ingredients for the harvest festival was more fun, especially since there was such a variety of them, and kept me preoccupied for much longer. seeing all the indoor villagers dressed up and 'cooking' definitely made it feel a lot more like a town-wide event than toy day too.
I'm looking forward to Toy Day the most. Christmas is perhaps my most favorite holiday of the year simply for the snow, the festivities, food, candy canes, warm and cozy red/green aesthetics and the music. I like interactive in-game events with the villagers. I also can't wait to collect all the toys in all their color variants, so says the completionist in me.
Turkey Day just for the DIYs. I'll be using that set in my autumn room. I just have to wonder what other ingredients besides pumpkins are possibly available that were not shown/revealed in the trailer? It can't be JUST pumpkins, right? We'll have to wait and see. Luckily the 26th is just around the corner.
Depends on how they're handled. If Toy Day is selecting the best gift from a predetermined set like in New Leaf, that wouldn't be as fun as personally selecting and delivering a gift my villagers would enjoy based on what they tell me throughout December. The snow and lights during the time of year look beautiful in-game at night though!
Based on the information we have, I'm more excited to gather ingredients for Turkey Day and spend time in the plaza with my villagers. Might have to start growing pumpkins again because the only ones I have are from pre-Halloween. No one wants old pumpkin in their dish, I don't think!
where i live it suddenly snowed a lot yesterday so i cant help being in the winter/xmas mood already
i want to enjoy each seasonal event though, so still looking forward to turkey day
Turkey Day because its closer but pretty disappointed in the items. I thought for sure we would grow potatoes and other veggies for this event. Toy Day is ok but there are already so many Christmas items. Personally I was hoping that they added more furniture especially for these holiday events.
I'm not really a fan of the thanksgiving aesthetic, though I do like the new items versus the older (gross purple lol) ones. I think im more excited for Christmas; I'm especially excited to put a Christmas tree in my house in all my AC games
I'm looking forward to both days, The activities look fun because of the new items and what you can do to share with friends. Christmas has a special place in my heart but right now I'm more excited about turkey day (because in my country we don't celebrate Thanksgiving)
I am so excited for toy day all the items look so cute and I am getting ready to get online here and catalogue all the cute different toys and colours with everyone
I'm so hyped for both! My family doesn't really do much for either holiday in real life, so Animal Crossing has been a nice substitute for real-life activities ever since I was a child. I'm personally more excited for Turkey Day-- it looks similar to the New Leaf event, which I absolutely loved, and the items are adorable. I already have plans to use several of them around my island. But the cute little toys for Toy Day... ugh, I really can't decide! I'm excited to find out what each event entails, since there's not too much information out on them right now due to the time lock.
After seeing the details of how turkey day works, I'm definitely more excited for that right now! It sounds so cute and fun.
I'm super excited for both though!
I love Toy day in ac. The music, and lighted trees, Jingle. I just love it. Although, I'm super excited for Turkey day, because the furniture is so pretty, and some of it can be used year round. I don't think we got much on Turkey day in previous games, and the Harvest set was kind of ugly, in my opinion.
I’m excited for both and im glad they’re bringing Franklin back for sure because he’s so cute. I like the items from both and well so it’s hard. I guess it’ll depend on what happens with toy day.
I'm excited for both but I think I'm more excited for turkey day since I like the idea of making food using ingredients from around our islands, and the dining furniture looks so natural and useful on top of being really cute! But the toy day furniture looks amazing and going around giving your villagers toys seems really sweet - though I'm a bit worried the random toys will clash with their house interiors. I hope we get to choose what to gift to each villager!
Turkey day! Im trying to build a town that would be in the fall season (even though its gonna be over soon but who cares) and the turkey day items would really fit well into my town.
