MINECRAFT IS COMING TO WII U ON THE 17TH!

I am excited for sure!

But i do not really have people to play with so i will stick to the PC version.

All my friends do not own a Wii U ;v;

I mean like dutch people so that i can strike up a normal conversation without messing up all the pronounciations xD

we should buy it for wii u and play together
I used to have it for pc. used to.

Minecraft could've been released last year, so the Wii U would get some much needed boost in sales.

I definitely seen the gameplay many times before since its initial PC release in 2011, and its early alpha build back in 2009! I've never gotten the chance to play the game, since I never liked gaming on a PC in general. I'll admit that the very malleable gameplay does get me interested, especially after watching The Completionist video of it:

I wonder on how the Wii U port will fare in the coming months and if that would provide some significant-enough sales boost.

That's honestly the last place I'd go to play Minecraft. I already own it on the PC and Xbox 360 so I don't think I'll be getting it on the Wii U. I do want it on my Vita to play it on a portable device. Still, for those who don't have it and want it in console form of a system they own, this is a nice announcement.

I have this on Xbox 360 so i would find it quite pointless to get Minecraft on Wii U. But i'm surprised Nintendo is teaming up with their buisness competitor.

I've been waiting a long time for this announcement since the Wii U Gamepad will make a great controller, you won't have to open up your inventory in the middle of a fight and the Wii U's high GB RAM may make it possible for infinite worlds. But i'm waiting for TU31 a.k.a the 1.8 Update for console.

This definitely is exciting! Even though I do not have a Wii U, this will definitely be a great addition to the system's library. Wii U sells will definitely pick up just because Minecraft is one of the best selling games of all time. I'm definitely curious to see if it is possible to transfer data between system types (like 360 to Wii U or Wii U to PC) so that you can continue working on the same build regardless of what system you play on.

Tad late for any hype levels, the game's kinda oldish now and it's been on every other console and tablet, but now they decide it's time for the Wii U to shine with it.

Either that or I'm more bothered that it's out on my birthday, what a silly present from Nintendo.

Apparently, It won't make use of the GamePad for Inventory, etc. Just as off-tv play

Are you Serious Mojang?

It feels too little, too late to me.

I was considering the Wii U version at first despite owning it twice already (PC/PS3) since this is a game where a dedicated inventory/menu screen on the gamepad would have actually been a great selling point since it fits the game so perfectly...But they couldn't be bothered doing that and just gave the bare minimum of 'off screen play' instead that every half arsed Wii U port gets. Pfft.

It just doesn't really offer anything that other versions don't already have. Off screen play isn't enough for me.

Probably won't do well enough to get excited about. The Wii U release has pretty much missed the hype train for Minecraft.

But i'm surprised Nintendo is teaming up with their buisness competitor.

At this point it's not really teaming up. Minecraft is available on Xbox 360, Xbox One, Windows Phone, Windows OS (probably Vista - Windows 10) Playstation 3, Playstation 4, Playstation Vita, iOS, Linux, Android, something called 'Raspberry PI', potatos, dogs, cats, the dishwasher, the microwave...

This is less teaming up with a competitor and more letting Nintendo have the few remaining scraps.

I highly doubt it.

Yaaaaaay, now we'll get even more cringeworthy 6-year-olds on Miiverse, if it gets a Miiverse community. *shudders*

Wow that makes it totally worthless. It would have actually been cool with the GamePad. =/

No interest whatsoever. I own it for the 360, and while I enjoyed that well enough, I feel that I've moved past it a while ago. The only way I might want to get back into Minecraft would be if I had it on PC, but I don't have a machine powerful enough to run it at this time.

Ok just wanna point this out, the Wii U sales are not going to be boosted by this game. I mean yeah, it is a popular game but that also means that almost everyone has it already.
