Does anyone know how often meteor showers occur? (I’d imagine once a month but I’ve only seen 3-4 so far since buying the game) And has anyone else had issues with wishing on shooting stars and the fragments not turning up on the beach the next day! Please help

Heavy showers are infrequent, happening on average once a month, and light showers are more frequent, happening 2-5 times per month (can be more or less of course). The only way to know for sure when your star showers will be are to calculate your weather seed, which determines your island's unique weather pattern. As for star frags, they always appear the following day, and if you time travel too far they will disappear. If you don't find any, try clearing your beaches of shells/gyroid frags, and move furniture around to make sure they aren't hiding behind decorations.

Depends on your island seed. It's random.

Light showers happen on average 1-3 times a week.

Heavy showers are much more RNG dependent. I know someone who used to get 3+ every month. Whereas my island can go several months without seeing a single heavy shower.

i never could figure out my islands weather seed, i tried multiple times. no matter what i did it was never right. i would much prefer a daily weather announcement from isabelle(would be more useful than telling us she found a sock for the 10,000th time).

Isabelle does actually announce meteor showers now if it's after 7 pm and she has no other announcements ^^ But yeah finding your weather seed can be finicky (there's over 2mil seeds so that's probably why). People seem to recommend finding a day you have stars and entering in the star times for a quick seed result.

At this point I just get my star fragments from the occasional Kapp'n tour. You have a 1/8 chance of getting that island if you get the improved belongings fortune from Katrina before sailing.
