I prefer Merengue cause of her cute pinkness appeal and strawberry nose. But Marshall does look adorable when his little tail bobs up and down and looks like a marshmellow, however his facial expression is angry which I'm not a fan of.

I have no real affinity for Merengue, she's a cute design, and quite unique but sugary villagers never appealed me, as I'm not a fan of zucker either.

i've had both in two seperate villages, and i kinda like marshal more just because he's in my current village and i've had more time to bond with him
but merengue is really cute and baking is my favorite hobby so i have a personal connection with that
