Alright I think that we can all attempt to share views of which president we want in office and why. I would strongly urge people not to bash the other candidate in this thread, lets try to stay civilized. You are welcome to address your own candidates shortcomings though!
I am planning on voting for Obama. There are issues personal to me that influence my decision but I know that those do not necessarily hold sway on others. What I can say about him is that he chose to work the job with less monetary rewards. I personally can relate to that and makes me believe he is a really good person deep down. I could have a summer job that actually makes me money, but I still go to the same camp because of how much I enjoy providing new experiences for the children that go there. Obama helped communities gain a voice, and that makes all the difference.
I know Obama might not have as much experience, but I almost see that as a good thing because it brings new ideas to the table. He would not be stuck in the 'business as usual' rut as easily. Our economy needs some drastic changes, and so does health care. New ideas are needed, and I feel like Obama is in touch with the current generation, avoiding a lot of ignorance that is out there.
I have heard Obama attacked for being present at votes but not casting his, but I almost see this as a great thing. If you do not feel strongly enough for either side of a vote, you really should not allow yourself to be pressured into one. I don't see this as indecisiveness, but wisdom. Making an ill informed decision is worse than making no decision at all.
I would like to add a side note here just to say that both sides have been using advertisements to sling mud at each other. This is despicable, and both sides are doing it because we let it work. It tries to paint the other as a bad guy, and after looking at both candidates neither are bad deep down. Sometimes they just misunderstand an issue or are misunderstood themselves. This election should not be about who we don't want in office, but who we want in office.
