Maximum horizontal length of signature?

Is there any? Given that the guidlines only talk about a maximum vertical length of signatures. I've seen some people with a horizontal scroll bar under their signature so just out of curiosity.

the signature guide claims for it to be 715. i think it's height that matters more, ive seen alot of signatures that go over 715 length and they go untouched (probably because of what jake said, the scrollbar)
