Marty, does anyone know if he’s in New Horizons?

Just saw Marty in the fandom page and it says he’s in New Horizons, but I don’t see any further information that backs that claim up. Anyone know if my boy Marty can be invited in through amiibo card?

unfortunately, sanrio villagers aren't in new horizons. hopefully, they'll be added in with the updates!

He’s Sanrio so he can’t be a villager

The only villagers that are in the game are the Series 1-4 Animal Crossing amiibo cards and the villagers that were included in the Welcome Amiibo card series. This excludes the 8 new villagers who don't have amiibo yet.

Echoing what everyone else says, there are no sanrio villagers anymore His name was found in the data on the list of villagers along with the other sanrio ones so a lot of people are really hoping they all will come back but sadly, if you scanned his card in you'd just get a Pompompurin poster since that's what he's based on... not even a poster of Marty himself.

but if you scan in the sanrio amiibo cards you get posters so hopefully he and the others come back at some point :/

Nope. I just keep his card in a special place for the day I can use it again for his character. He is the best!!!

I think they will be making a comeback.
If Sanrio no longer had a collab with Nintendo, they wouldn't have given us the posters.
I think they're waiting to bring them back via an update.

Quoting this to make sure you see it.

Even though he is not in the game, you can still get the Sanrio posters from the Sanrio collaboration. This means that Nintendo still has permission to use Sanrio property in Animal Crossing. Hopefully we'll be getting Marty (and the others) in a future update. Maybe have their furniture attached to DIYs for an event or something. Could be cool!
