Mario Kart 7 and that stupid blue shell.

If anyone owns/has played Mario Kart 7. I don't know about you but I feel that the 150CCs are so ridiculous. I understand they made the game more difficult somewhat but my goodness. That blue shell is almost always flying at the last lap which sends you off to 6th-8th place. It can't be just me, and this always seems to happen RIGHT BEFORE YOU'RE ABOUT TO GET 40/40 POINTS.

I've finished 50CC, 100CC and 150CC and now I'm working on 3 staring all my Mirrored cups but my god. The difficulty leap is so stupid. To me at least, it goes from 50CC(Beginner)-->100CC(Normal)-->150CC(Insane). Its missing a difficulty between Normal-->Insane.

Just a bit of game ranting, cause ye'know. Mario Kart 7, that's all I have to say.

I think that happened to me more in Mario Kart Wii.

To be honest all the cups are quite easy in 7 for me.

Yeah 7 is unforgiving if you get hit, especially 150cc and Mirror. Mostly because AI is cheating af in the later cups.

@Umeko - Yeah, these AI are really tough for me at least. I mean in Mario Kart DS, the AI was kind of a joke. As long as you knew how to snake, you were good. The changes to the game's boosting makes snaking more difficult, if not even possible anymore sadly.

Yeah, I never got more than one star on some 150/Mirror ones.

I had them spamming the damn blue shell on all difficulties right at the final lap in 7.

Would just be about to cross the line and suddenly.. BLUE SHELL! RED SHELL! RED SHELL! STAR! GREEN SHELL! BLUE SHELL AGAIN! *finishes dead last*

It got a LOT better from the Wii to 7. In Wii, if you were in first, you'd get hit by a blue shell every lap.

MK7 is really easy for me. o-o

Just stay (or try to) stay in second or third place the entire race, then pass right on by the blue shelled first place racer. <3

When I get targeted by the blue shell, I back my car up a bit and try to get as close to the second place person as possible to get them attacked too.

Mario Kart Wii was the easiest to avoid a blue shell in, provided the item you picked up was a mushroom that you kept 'just in case'. As soon as the blue shell dives down to hit you, you use the mushroom and can usually 9/10 speed out of blast range. Mario Kart 64 was the best though, instead of just hitting the person in first place with it, you could hit anyone in its path with it.

64 was the best MK indeed. And those glitch battle courses <3

I have 3 stars on ever cup in every cc, its really easy to get stars in this game now. This is probably because I have played every Mario Kart and I have alot of experience. Blue Shells really only bothered me in MK Wii.

Blue shell = death of mario kart.
Sure 90% of the game has improved between mario kart on the snes and mario kart 7 on the 3DS, but as long as that blue shell exists in it, that 90% gets completely wothless.

I long back for the snes days.
