If that's what you like, go for it! My NL village had Midge, Goldie, and Kitt, and it was fine. I've stuck to 2 normals in NH, mainly because I wanted an extra cranky.
It's your island, so you should have animals you like living there.
The normal villagers in NH seem to be even more bland than than they were in NL but I would go ahead and get Maple because the odds are that you might not have another opportunity to invite her to your island.Besides,she's cute as a bug(I have her in New Leaf).
Well I have 4. I found Kiki and Fauna on mystery islands, Lolly from an amiibo and Maple from the void (which I don't mind at all). But idk what to do with all these normals! Help :'/
personally I like a mix of dialogue so I tend to not have more than 2 types of villager but as someone who tends to like a lot of the same personality types, it can be hard! I’d say go with whatever makes you happy and feels right c:
I think Normals are a little too lowkey for me, so I'd never want more than 2. That being said, I'd never want more than 2 of any personality type, since I prefer variety. I ended up with THREE crankies so far, and even though they're my favorite personality type, I can't deal with that many lol. But for Normals & Lazies specifically, I'd honestly only want 1.
I currently have four normals on my island (Marina, Margaret [Maggie lol], Margie, and Tia).
They enjoy different activities and feel different to me, but if I had to let Maggie and Tia leave, I would. Less of 'too much Normal' and more of 'I would like another personality type!'. Besides them, I have a snooty, lazy, jock, and smug. Currently missing a cranky, and looking to add another lazy, so I might change things up a bit.
I haven't even bothered with getting my villagers based on their personality types. In New Leaf I did, but this time around I've just gone for the cuties that I actually like.
For myself? Yes. One normal is more than enough. But I have 3 crankies right now and I have to keep myself from getting 4 so I'm not exactly one to judge lol. If you like normal villagers, I think you should take her. I had Maple a while back and she is SO cute.
I just found Audie on my 2nd try to Nook miles ticket and didn't realize she is a Peppy villager! I already have 2 peppy villagers in my town... i really like both of them tho (Cheri and Apple). I'll see how it is with three peppy villagers but I might be letting one of them move later ;__;

I had this dilemma the other day. I already have two normals and considered inviting another from the island but ultimately decided against it. However, one of my normals right now is Maple and she's adorable so I'd say go for it! Overall I don't think it will make a huge difference, it's not like your entire island is the same personality.
