Manga and Anime

One piece, bleach, fairy tail, code grass, hunter x hunter, soul eater, d-gray man, FMA, death note, ao no exorcist etc
Really hate school/romance anime, why is it so popular?

Highschool of the Dead isn't a school Anime, just to clear things up. It is about highschool students surviving in the apocalypse, they were just in the school at the start. In my opinion, HOTD has gripping, action packed scenes that pull the viewer in. Although it's often misunderstood as being a fan serviced crap anime - it's not.

My favorite anime is Gurren Lagann. I laughed. I cried.
Mostly laughed. Didn't actually cry.
But if you do want to watch an anime that's going to make you cry, watch Grave of the Fireflies. It's a really good movie.
On the other hand, if you want something that'll make you laugh, watch Nichijou. It is so ridiculous.

Overall I tend to like anime that have a lot of moments that make you laugh and moments that make you feel really sad. I like it when they fluctuate between silly and serious. Some sort of romantic interest is a plus and only draws me in more.

I also enjoy stuff like Fruits Basket and Ouran High School Host Club. I need to read those manga though since the anime stopped before the actual ending from the manga.

The only anime I'll watch whenever it's on TV is Cowboy Bebop. None of this Season 23 Episode 41 ****. 26 episodes, that's all I need. Each with their own plot. Awesome show, definitely recommend it.

I used to watch that on Toonami I think. I gave up because I started watching late into the season and had no idea who anyone was. :P
It is a good anime though.

I'm with you on the endless anime thing....
The best anime are usually the short ones. The ones that never seem to end get so boring after a while...

I'm not talking about HOTD, I've seen it and enjoyed it, not really a school anime so yeah, I basically mean like Clannad and Lucky Star etc

Slice-of-life tends to contain comedy and/or an emotional connection to the characters. Some folks enjoy watching something silly and relaxing, while others may just find it boring and cheesy.
Different strokes for different folks and all that jazz.

Ghost in the shell, Sailor moon, Card Captor Sakura, Gundam Wing, Neon Genesis Evangelion, Ranma, Chobits, Love Hina, Magic Knight Rayearth, Dante's Inferno, All movies by Studio Ghibli (Especially spirited away), ummmm that is all I can think of at the moment :)

The only anime that is still "good" with a lot of episode (200+) is One Piece. It is confirmed to have an ending but not anytime soon. Naruto just seems like its being dragged out IMO (Its still interesting though).

All of the Miyazaki movies, Cowboy Bebop, FLCL, Mushishi, Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei, Trigun, Paranoia Agent, Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, .hack//SIGN, Soul Eater, Blood+, Yu Yu Hakusho, D. Gray-Man, Dance in the Vampire Bund, Trinity Blood, Desert Punk, Dragonball series, Eureka Seven, Gun X Sword, Hellsing, Highschool of the Dead, Kino's Journey, Lupin III.

I forgot a few, but you get the point.

Mawaru Penguindrum (hence the name!), Hyouka, Steins;Gate, Ano Hana are probably my TOP 4 favourites. I can't pick which one I prefer the most, they're all pretty amazing in their own ways.
