Making More Bells

The ones on the palm trees are Golden Stag, Horned Atlas, Horned Elephant, Horned Hercules, and Goliath Beetles. They're usually the only ones I bother with haha.

I think it's at 7 the grasshoppers and locusts disappear, so that's a good time to start. Because those guys are a PITA. You'll still need to scare away the wharf roaches and the other ones, tiger something.

That's awesome!!(: what are the beetles called?

Golden stag, horned hercules, horned elephant, atlas beetle. The first two sell for 12k standard and the other two sell for 8k. Then there's the goliath beetle that I personally don't bother catching, but it's worth 6k, so not worthless. But with the limited box space, they might not be worth bringing back, unless you're in a hurry.

Definitely go for the stalk market. Those turnips are valuable, and the four patterns are easy to see, so you can tell whether you need to go to someone else's village, or if you can sell in your town!

Plus, they money REALLY adds up!

The only downside to the turnip trade is that if you wanna make mondo money, you have to buy a lot of turnips, and the more turnips you buy, the less storage space you have, if you decide to put them in storage...

My whole C storage space is filled with turnips, and my B is almost full!

I still get some little bugs running around the island and hermit crabs that I have to keep scaring off. Maybe that's why? I'm not sure.

I cut down all but two palms...when neither of those has beetles I run around and scare off the warf roaches and hermit crabs, then run through the middle and scare off the tiger beetles...I full my basket in about a half hour and make 300K-400K per trip...the only beetle I don't bother with is the goliath since it is only 6K and the rest are 8K-12K

In my opinion, there are only two ways to make many, many Bells.

1. The rare beetles on the Island. Catch ones on palm trees. I use all my palm trees, not just a few. I recommend catching all the beetles that spawn on the palm trees, they are all worth something. After you fill your box, sell at Re-Tail. Boom. Profit.

2. The Stalk Market. Buy turnips from Joan on Sunday mornings. Then, watch the official Stalk Market thread+the official turnip prices thread for high prices. Sell your turnips at high prices. I've gotten 2,000,000 Bells from the Stalk Market in two weeks alone.

How often do they spawn? Cause I did the two trees on each side but I rarely see em

Like already pointed out, the little skittering bugs might be filling up at the expense of the beetles. Though sometimes, I feel like I've scared off all the undesirables and still no good beetles. Then I just go inside the hut and then back out to reset the bugs. That pretty much always fixes it.

How did you make it so it shows whose in your town like you have?

How did you get it too show your permanent villagers like that?

At first, I started with bug catching at the island to get some sort of income. When I accumulated enough bells, 1.5mil I started to work with the Stalk Market. In the end, I have two jobs. Day job is Stalk Markets, and my night job is Beetle Catching. So far, I've saved up about 95mil and currently finishing up the last upgrades (basement) to my house then I'll be fully expanded and finished with my house. Waiting for more public works project requests from my neighbors so I can finish up my town. :D I also breed flowers as a hobby.

Yeah, it does become quite a hassle after a while. But it keeps me from time traveling. (Not that I even want to) But it I like it because I love the idea of making profits from buying low, selling high. Helps me to communicate more. :D

There's a good guide here: http://www.thonky.com/animal-crossing-new-leaf/stalk-market/
I bought turnips twice, but considering how profitable island beetle hunting is, I quit. Also because to get the best profits, you have to check before and after noon (AND keep boatloads of turnips in storage). Or find a town with a good selling price. Too much hassle.
Even with all that hassle, if you do it right, it'll keep growing fast. I bought 11,000 turnips for 100 bells apiece, if I find a town that has a selling price over 500 bells, that's about a 4 million bell profit.

There's 3 ways to make a lot of money in AC. Well, technically 4, but I am not going to discuss the 4th because I don't exactly like that practice.

1) Beetle/shark farming. Best place for this is the island, preferably between 7pm-10pm. If it's not those times in your island and you're a non-TTer, you could visit Club Tortimer and probably find an international island that's during night. I don't recommend this, though, due to things I've heard about people on Club Tortimer sometimes being jerks and scaring off beetles and chopping down trees. The advantage is this requires little investment (1k bells per trip) and you can get around 300k bells in only 30 minutes.

2) Selling turnips. The best way to make the maximum profits is to join the turnip groups here. You'll find towns to buy low and sell high if your town isn't working out for you that week. This requires more investment than beetles/sharks, but you can multiply your bells with far less effort if you find a town that's selling for high prices.

3) Sell items to the community. You can make some nice profit on rare items. A single gold nugget tends to go for around 100k bells, for example. I personally don't go this route typically because I have found that it is far better to build up my karma rating with this community by giving things away or selling for good prices. You can find some good friends this way who are willing to go to amazing lengths to help you out, especially if you return the favor when you can. But this is still a legit way to make money in the game.
