Major Mess Up! Please Help!

It was two am. I was really bored so I time travelled 35 years in the future to the year 2050. I saw my post-apocalyptic town and reset without saving. I changed the date and time back so it was where it was supposed to be, but I found that something wasn't right. My mailbox had random items, Dr Shrunk was at my house, construction had finished for T&T Mart and Kicks and Shampoodle had begun, my hair was a mess, dandelion puffs everywhere, sea of weeds.... What can I do to fix this? Will it affect anything long-term? Really worried here...

It's because when you loaded up the town in "35 years", it saved that state even before you stepped out the door of your house--same reason you can't use your mayor for plot resetting, but must make new save files. Even when you went backwards, you took all that change with you.

The only thing you can do to fix it is clean it up manually, and enjoy the new shops. No way to get rid of them. Or Shrunk. Shampoodles can fix your hair, though.

It saved anyway because it saves before Isabelle let's you go play. I guess you have to pick all the weeds and fix it

Yes, loading any existing character automatically saves the game. The one thing you can do if you just want to see what it would be like is to set your 3DS clock that far into the future and create a new character and then quit without saving after you're done looking around and set your 3DS clock back to the regular time.

yes because the game is still being saved regardless if it's your mayor or not. like the221believer said, it's similar to how saving works with plot resetting

So doing that won't save any changes that occurred in the town after going that far ahead in time, right?
