I hate to admit it because I love the game and I was so excited for its' release, but I ruined it for myself by resetting so many times, and now I've started to get bored.

I just go on, do my daily stuff like gathering all the fossils and checking all the shops for anything I can buy, then I switch it off because I'm bored.

I really want to get back into it again. I don't want to delete my town because I won't find one I'm happy with again because it takes me AGES - i just need a way to love it again. Any suggestions?

Start landscaping (if you haven't already) - it's time consuming but fun. Spend time getting PWPs and breeding hybrids and stuff.

Just take a break from it for a while. Works for me every time, at least.

Take a break and come back later.

Just make sure you stop after you've halted somebody from moving so that way nobody else will stealth move out while you're gone. (unless you just don't really care if anyone moves)

Although you asked for ways to continue playing, I also think taking a break is the best way. I think it's silly to almost force yourself to play a game

You could just take a little break. Or try switching your villagers around or redesigning your town ^~^

I think the best way would to just take a break, step back, do something else for the time being. Pick up another video game that interests you. If you don't want anyone to move out while you're taking a break do what LambdaDelta said.

I'm not really interested in the game rhat much anymore. I take breaks, come back, but still bored.

Me too,I take breaks, come back and it seems fun again. But now I glitched onto the trains on saw the top of the top of the stairs to main street is nothing, just an abyss.Makes me feel bored, hopefull on the Wii U version, since its a actual home console and can hold more data, they can put most of the map in one area without having to go to another area and have it load.

Try Experimenting with paths or making cool designs! Or just take a nice long break. A long break for me would be about 1 day lol.
I can't stay away from animal crossing :]. Or if you haven't finished the joke collection you could try doing that. Try collecting every fruit if you have not yet thats fun. Or you can go to the tropical relaxing Island.

Broken record time: Take a break. Sometimes I get bored with it too, so I just stop playing for a while, but then after a while I see a post on tumblr or I hear my friends talking about it and I just get slapped in the face with the urge to pick it up again.

And even if you take a break and don't want to play it again, that's okay too. :P

This has happened to me a few times; a little break from the game always seems to help c: Just remember to set up the beautiful town ordinance unless you want to return to brown flowers and weeds -.-

Also, trying something new is always fun. I don't know what you have/haven't done already, but you could try making pro designs, breeding hybrids (try blue roses and purple pansies for maximum frustration >__>) or campground resetting to get that one villager you've always really wanted.

Hope you find some way to renew your interest c: I always hate the feeling my obsession with I game I love starting to fade away T_T

I would take a long break and only start playing again if you feel the urge, not because you feel you have to or whatever. There's no point playing something you don't enjoy.

If you dig up everything in your town, cut down a lot of trees, kick up your entire path, etc. etc. and just like wipe your town clean, you'll have a lot of work to do to redesign your entire town.
also!! you could work on badges, your catalog, and catching all of the fish/bugs/and deep sea creatures.

You just HAD to say deep sea creatures... I HATE diving! Well, usually. It's so frustrating and slow and I sometimes get so mad when the silly things are near the ropes but not UNDER them yet and I can't grab them!

I lose interest every every couple months, but I usually end up coming back.
