Ok, so in order to get my point across, I need to make a long story short. ^^;

Earlier this month, my town was going as planned, in that I was eventually going to get all of my dream villagers. I had 7 out of the 10 and I was just going to be cycling out the last two villagers for one of my dreamies I had lost. However, one of my dream villagers I had at the moment, Cookie, randomly moved out. I wasn't too devastated, but it was upsetting considering I was so close to getting all of my dream villagers for this summer. So, I've been playing almost every day since then so I could make sure nobody left. Well, I didn't play for three days (when it takes roughly around five to have a villager move out) and sure enough, when I played today, Deirdre, one of my dreamies, was gone. I really don't understand what this game is trying to do, but it's driving me crazy.

Now, I have only five of my dream villagers and I really feel stuck. I've tried to find tips on how to naturally cycle properly (since I do not use TT and will not), and I haven't been too successful. Honestly, at this point, I'm willing to cycle out for both Cookie and Deirdre (since there's only 16 villagers left to), but I don't know what to do to prevent this from happening again. However, I'm pretty sure I'm certain as to why Deirdre moved out, as the last time I played I never got to talk to her outdoors. This may have not given her a chance to prompt me to leave, and that could be a possible reason. But does this mean that every day I play, I have to talk to my villagers outside in the main part of my town? I know that a villager will not prompt you in the shopping area/indoors, so I'm thinking this is a reason why.

This is a TL;DR, so basically, I'm trying to find tips on how to naturally cycle without losing any of my villagers again...any help is appreciated! :)

Just talk to ALL of your villagers naturally.
Usually I walk past my villagers first to see if they ping before I talk to them just in case I mess it up.
Also, most of the time, my other villagers tell me when someone is planning on moving out but if no one says anything, be extra careful and talk to everyone and walk past everyone.

Thank you so much for such a quick response! I will admit that I only tend to talk to my dream villagers every time I play, but I might be messing myself up as I occasionally talk to my cycling villagers. I've heard that once a cycling villager moves in, if you don't talk to them at all, they will move. Does this work? I'm honestly considering anything but TT to get villagers out as soon as possible.

Well considering that you are trying not to TT, I would just talk to everyone naturally.

Yes the ignore method works. I used to have a cycle thread here and I could get a new villager in the morning and get at least 2 or more villagers out by the end of the day just by ignoring them. My dream villagers would ping me saying that they want to leave every once in a while but it's mostly the new ones that pinged.

Always make sure to talk to them the first day they move in. Talk to them when they are still in boxes when they first move in to introduce yourself and after that first time, don't talk to them ever again. Only talk to them if they ping you.

There are some great cycling methods on the forum and I could link you to the "safe" version if you wish ^^

Thank you! I knew I heard that method somewhere and I am going to try it the next time I have a villager move in. As of now, I have three villagers I don't want in my town, but I have already talked to them. I can't really do anything about that, but now I have room for two new villagers to move in. I have heard somewhere that having 10 villagers makes it more difficult for one to move out, but is this true? I'm thinking not but I'll find out sooner or later.

Also I would really appreciate that if you can! I really need to see how to cycle properly since there's obviously something going wrong on my side. ^^;

I used this method to cycle my villagers out!

Also, I'm pretty sure it's only the newest villager that is the hardest to get out. I think it is pretty difficult to move out the tenth villager.
Try to get 8 villagers first before getting a dream villager so that you won't be stuck at 10 villagers. Who knows what could happen, a dreamie could be in the campsite or someone could be hosting a giveaway for a dreamie and you have 10 villagers.

Thank you for the link!

I'm not too worried about welcoming in new dream villagers until I completely cycle for Cookie and Deirdre. I'm sure adding more dream villagers into the mix won't be in my favor, so I'll just have to be patient unfortunately :/ It took me 10 months to cycle completely for Marshal (Deirdre was my last one) so I'll likely have to wait a little into next year. But I think it's definitely worth it! ^^

I'll try to keep my villager count at 9 or less then, too. I currently have 8 villagers in my town now (they're all in my signature) so hopefully I can find a 9th villager in the campsite and use the ignore method. Thank you for your help! I really hope I can keep all of my dream villagers from here.

Okay! Good luck~

I'm facing the exact same problem right now as I took a break from playing and forgot to TT to the date I last played on, which sadly resulted in a dreamie moving out. Very frustrating. I would like to thank you for helping me aswell!
