Looking for General Help with Hacking

Hello, thank you for taking the time to read this. I'm thinking about hacking one of my copies of New Leaf, and I've been reading FAQs but I still can't really figure out how or where to get started. I'd like to ask for help from more experienced hackers here. For reference, my system firmware is ver. 9.8.0-25.

Any help at all is appreciated. Thank you!

It won't work, your firmware must be under 9.5..

^ what they said, from 9.0 to 9.5.22. There is no way to change your firmware despite what you may read, you'd have to buy another ds :l And check not just the firmware but the browser as well. Some people will update with a game to 9.2 but what they don't realize is that it doesn't update the browser so it still wouldn't work >.<

You can't downgrade...if you go onto the actual page where the editor is you see so many people asking the same thing, and it just isn't possible. Hence why so many people can't do it and more aren't >.< I have 2 ds's, one past the firmware and one with the correct firmware, I can tell you first hand, downgrading won't work. And you'll end up paying a lot for gateway only to realize that :l

Here's the real problem. Nintendo doesn't approve of hacking. The reason why they are updating is so they can prevent hacking. I know you want to do it, but hacking video games is generally bad.

It's really a personal preference. I see no moral issues with hacking a game. A lot of people do it, and will continue to do it.

It's too bad, then. Do you think I could purchase a 3DS that hasn't been updated anywhere?

Nintendo also region locks a portable system, while a PS4 isn't. It's not like anyone can go to jail for using the editor..they know it exists, the page and tools have been on for months now, it's not as big a deal as people make it seem. Hacking has always been done, and cheats for animal crossing have been around since gamecube days. And it isn't bad, it doesn't harm your system in any way.

I would try ebay, but asking for proof on the firmware, as I do think second hand stores update the software :l I got mine from a friend, and mine is 9.4 and leaf tools hacks as well as the ram editor work on mine (as I know for the pwp unlocker hack it doesn't always work even on the firmware)

And nintendo doesn't just update to prevent that, it's to fix all the bugs they have with the games >.< gosh

and make sure it's also for your region! otherwise you can't hack >.< since you need to access the menu to do so, using region three wouldn't work ! feel free to pm me if you need help with anything else related to it!
