Normally when you press Save and Quit, the Saving screen would pop up and say that saving is complete after a few seconds or so, right?

Just a few minutes ago, I was about to Save and Quit and strangely the game took a longer time to save than I usually experience it with. I wasn't on Wi-Fi with anyone else, and the only option was to hit the Power switch. I tried to press the Home button but it didn't work, so I waited a bit longer, and it said saving complete.

I was thrown into a huge panic there ;-;
Is this normal though? I've never had this happen to me before. The only other time I was forced to power off was in Pokemon X but it didn't corrupt the game.

I have the physical copy and have over 700 hours of playtime (probably even more since I have two cartridges now), and would this affect my game and cause a corruption of some sort? I'm probably going paranoid and I even closed the software and launched it to see if something happened.

This happened to me once out of the blue. I left it alone for like 10 minutes and it still was saving, so I hit the power button. Good thing I didn't do much so I didn't lose that much progress. This happened a month ago if I remember correctly and nothing bad has happened since!

I've had this happen a few times and I've heard of it happening to others too, don't know what causes it but I doubt it's anything to worry about!

I have seen lots of people mentioning that. I had this problem, and like, many times in a row suddenly, so I started panicking lol
I deleted all my photos from the 3DS Camera and then tried saving. It saved almost instantly, and it has been like that since then

Some people just leave it alone, some mention that it will eventually save, but I don't want to wait more than 10min for that oO

This used to happen to me and I've heard of it happening to a lot of other people. I don't know what the cause is, but flicking off the wifi seems to help.

Same here. It happened to me once. I started to panick because 10 minutes is so long. I left it alone and it finally saved. This was on my first town that has tons of hours spent on it. This town is really special to me. You hear about towns corrupting and I thought "OMG, IT'S HAPPENING" LOL.

I remember a few threads back some people had a similar problem to yours. I believe it was mainly do to storage on the ad card. If you have too many games or pictures, maybe that's what is contributing to the slow save, but I'm not 100% sure.

Try updating the system and powering down. Sometimes that'll help. If not, take your cartilage out too and wait a few and pop it back in and see how everything is working. Check your wifi connection too, just in case. Sometimes those two are linked. I notice that it sometimes takes longer when I'm at work, where I have crappy connection, to save than when I'm at home, so that could be a reason behind it. Hopefully that was just a one time thing though.

I think that about 2 minutes is the longest I've had to wait. But, yeah, it usually only takes a few seconds. I don't take pictures or use the apps, though.

Thats happened to me before and it eventually saved. I also get a little bit of lag whenever I read the sign at retail. I think maybe ita due to the amount of information it has to process? Since you said you have a ton of hours, maybe that is why? All in all, glad it still saved for you!

This has happened to me once, and I think it took 5-10 minutes for it to finish saving. When it happens, you can either wait it out, or flick off the wifi switch. You won't lose any data, it just speeds up the saving process.

I get his occasionally. Its nothing to worry about just leave it and it should be fine.
