So basically what you're saying is you want to be a Mod just to abuse the power rather than doing what a Mod is supposed to be?
What? No... .-. I'd do my mod duties, plus more. I'd organize community events and stuff. Since I'd be working for the site, no one could stop me. What I'm saying is that if I tried to start my own tournament or something right now, it wouldn't work out as well as if I was on the staff. People would listen and obey, and we could actually have a fun time without people giving me crap for no reason.
Who said They would listen and obey. You can't force anyone to do anything. No matter what power you have, it's ultimately their decision.

zomg
Ugh, that does sound quite controlling... >_> I don't mean it that way. I just plain suck at explaining things. I say whatever pops into my head without thinking about it, because I get so frustrated. >_>

Power won't get you respect.

You don't demand respect either. For the longest time, you didn't care about what other people thought of you.

(Dr. Philfred's Point of View): I think you want to be like your boyfriend In the sense that you want to live up to his powers by gaining a powerful position on a site.

(My point of view): If you want respect, you also should stop obsessing over him. You should also try not to overreact to everything everyone says.
Oh, I know that being on the staff won't gain me respect. But people are less likely to talk back to a mod, right? Honestly, I don't give a damn what other people think of me. I'm going to be myself, no matter what. But a lot of people can't handle all my gayness and fanboyishness, and I never get any respect. I just can't get very far on this forum without the *censored.1.3* members always getting in my way.
Honestly, being a mod wouldn't help that much in that regard, they still get disrespected. I've seen you do it from time to time yourself.

If you're wanting to be mod to get respect, I suggest you look elsewhere.
I said it's not respect that I'm after. I just want to be able to do stuff without people trying to stop me. =/
So basically you're power hungry?

I know, but if I'm not actually part of the staff, people won't take me seriously... I couldn't start a big community-wide event here without being on the staff. =/
Don't assume that becoming part of the staff automatically means you will be respected or taken "seriously"... in fact, it doesn't. You have to work to get respect, and you can do that being a mod OR a regular member...

In fact, people are more likely to talk back and what have you...

Only I do get your point of the first post.
(sorry can't help it) Nooky, good to see you accepting this fact, but shouting it out kinda just made it fail more >.>

btw I don't get your second sentence... :0

Nooky it isn't your fault for not being a moderator on TBT, It's not the end of the world.
Keep trying and one day you'll be able to be a moderator.

As for the topic, I don't really care about being picked for moderator, It's nice to see my friends from before when they were just a normal member to become moderator.
I'll try next time :) .

You could also talk to staff about helping you with the contests.
Yeah, nooky can do it, but he has to revise the ways he sets them up, describes them etc.

Trust me, he does have some good ideas, he just needs help expressing them sometimes.

Heck I was a sage back when we had the rank since nearly the beginning, but in order to get that you had to prove yourself an active part of the community that people respected. It took a lot longer to get to be a mod, and now I'm the only one on staff aside from Jeremy who was here since TBT real beginning. edit: and getting sage so early in the forum was a transfer of Nsider cred lol

To get respect you really need to post well, and not just that, you have to be creative with your topics, introduce something new that people like to the forum. You really can't run things that well until people respect you, but I assure you as long as one other person on the forum looks up to you you have a base of support for what you want to do.

I like to think my best asset in being liked on here was my moxie, but not everyone liked me, if you end up liked by everyone tell me your secret, but I do know I am good at avoiding making enemies, and that is really a key to success. I might just be rambling now, but just know that sometimes earning a status in any society isn't easy.

Exactly what I was thinking.

If anyone has any ideas for events/tournaments just PM me or another staff member and I'm sure we'll be happy to help out.

That's so true, especially the last paragraph.

Most people can get supporters, but avoiding enemies is the worst bit :P

I can think of...1 or 2 enemies I already have, and I've barely been here 2 months ;)

I have loads of Ideas in mind.
I've started making seasonal signature competitions now, but I'll make more for people with different skills.
