Chapter 3

Link woke up suddenly feeling extraordinarily cold. Looking at the sky he saw smoke, just smoke. Link pondered for a moment of where this smoke was coming from. It isn't from the woods or he would be dead by now but what being burned could cover the sky with smoke? And then it came to him. He spun to his feet and sprinted towards his town. Link didn't think of dodging the branches at his face or the rocks and roots at his feet. He had to see what happened. He had to see if his grandfather is all right.

His adrenaline pumped as he ran the mile back home with such fear and sadness for what might happen. As the branches cut away at his skin he prayed to the Gods through is breaths, "I don't talk to you much, but please, do not let him die. Do not let him die
