If you write letters to your villagers, do you write them legitimately, using proper grammar and punctuation, or do you kinda just do it like you're texting? Ex: I'm so glad you moved into my town! vs im so glad u moved into my town

I write them using proper grammar and punctuation. I don't know if this is true or not, but I like to think that it increases my friendship with my villagers

I rarely ever write letters, but I like using proper grammar and punctuation. I just feel like it's not as meaningful if I were to write it like I do with texts, even though I know that doesn't make a difference whatsoever.

I remember that in Animal Crossing on DS if I did write text-like letters the villager would reply something like "what I do not understand what you mean", and if I attached a gift to the letter I would not receive a gift back. I did not try in NL, but because some villagers do write text-like (at least in French some do) I am assuming it could be OK.

Also, I do not usually use proper grammar. Most of the time, because I do not want to think too hard, I just write a series of word, one making me think of the next one (like "tomato sun hot summer beach sea wave" etc.). No villager ever complained so far, as long as the spelling is correct they do not mind the absence of punctuation and of general sense ^^

Wait, do they actually know?!?
I always use proper grammar and punctuation just for fun, but I was under the impression that it didn’t matter what you wrote at all.

i always tend to send my villagers unwanted stuff with like one word or letter even. i don’t know if it matters how much you write i just assumed not.

some key words they can pick up on. whenever i write a letter to a villager to say "Welcome to my town", they always say something along the lines of "Thank you for the lovely welcome" or "I was feeling lonely since my move, but you welcoming me made me feel better"

I always use proper grammar and punctuation in my letters to villagers. But then again, I do the same with my texts. Text language literally makes my skin crawl. It's one of my pet peeves. I have to live with it when others use, but I never use it myself outside of a few common abbreviations.

I like to use proper grammar when both writing letters to my villagers and even when I text. It feels too weird when you do text style, especially on the phone. I think I've always done this for a very long time. Also, I think it does matter if you use good grammar. Whenever I got a letter back from my villagers when I used proper grammar, their responses are so positive. So I assume proper grammar is good. ^.^

I've always used proper grammar, I guess part of me feels that as the mayor I should be a formal and professional authority figure.

I always make letters in proper grammar and punctuation. It's not like I'm typing them a text and it feels weird for me if I were to write in a way that the villagers would have a hard time understanding.

I use proper grammar because I don't like them being all WERE U WRITING IN CODE OR SOMETHING I COULDN'T READ UR LETTER. Shut up, animals. You never went to school. You don't know how to read anyway.

I always used proper grammar and punctuation in my letters to them because I?m trying to be polite and I also want it to look nice when they keep showing it to me years down the road (?Look, here?s the first letter you ever wrote to me!?).
At first I didn?t care and would send letters like texts, but in a recent version of the game I got letters back from villagers saying they didn?t understand what I wrote. Now I?m all paranoid that they understand what I write, so I?ve been staying in proper grammar ever since :p

I try to give my characters their own personalities, so it's reflected in their writing. For the mayor I try to write properly, make sure that the letter is more than 3 lines long, and include a gift of some sort. When it's my QR mule second character, I relax a bit and use some slang words and try to keep the letter as straight-forward as possible.

Honestly, it depends, sometimes I just feel like sending someone something and just write ?here? in the letter lol

I always use proper grammar mainly since I mostly find textspeak awkward. It's like a foreign language that I need to translate.

I also tend to use it as a mini diary and write a sentence or two about my day. I get a kick out of them showing me a letter I wrote months or years later that is like a snapshot of a past me. I do hate letter writing in general however, so it can be a bit of a chore lol.

i always do everything properly. i take it very seriously lmao
idk why i like doing it so much. i think i'd feel bad if i wrote my villagers letters with no effort put into them lol

No, if I ever get paper aka. free stuff from police station I just write like "ayy lmao" or stuff and attach what's in my pockets.

If I write a letter and try to put an actual message in it then yes, I do write it with proper language and punctuation. For the golden badge however I just spammed commas on the paper and sent a million of them to everyone. I couldn't be bothered to write so many actual letters.

I write A LOT of letters to my villagers because I like getting their picture items. As a result, I always try to write with proper grammar and punctuation to maximise my efforts.
