What are your current and retired hobbies? I always think it's fun to learn about not just what someone's currently into, but what just didn't stick.

My main hobbies are video games, reading, and crochet. I do these often, and rotate between which is the current primary hobby.

My intermittent hobbies are ones I do every now and then, but not often enough to say they're a main hobby. These are board games, gardening, baking, puzzles, puzzle books, coloring, kalimba, and clarinet.

My retired hobbies are ones I decided I didn't actually enjoy. These are knitting (in favor of crochet), sports in general, painting, and drawing. For some reason, knitting just does not make sense to me. I have no athletic ability for sports, and don't find painting and drawing relaxing.

So, what are your current hobbies and what did you try and give up?

I like writing, reading, drawing, and playing video games. I also like listening to music and YouTube videos. One of my short stories got published in an anthology recently, and I’m honestly kinda shocked lol.

Sometimes I color, do crossword puzzles/word searches, or dance.

I used to play piano, but don’t anymore.

Painting or drawing, playing violin, reading , , I’m learning how to crochet, and to a lesser extent playing videogames. I used to play more games I just don’t have the attention span for it to commit to a game till the end anymore. I get distracted by 100 different things and end up never finishing them, or starting like 5 and never finishing any of them. I’m hoping I can get back to enjoying them again though.

I mainly like drawing, reading books, listening to music, and playing video games. I also like watching sports such as soccer and basketball, and even though I'm not that athletic, I enjoy playing tennis pickleball.

learning web development, playing the piano, playing video games, and occasionally 3D modeling.

i used to really enjoy drawing (digitally) but i don't do that anymore because i'm a graphic design major and all personal creativity has been sucked out of me LMAO

Some of my hobbies I don't do all the time. I love to garden. All kinds. Vegetables, fruits, flowers. I like to experiment and see how things grow. And then go the extra mile and try to make stuff with the things I grew. Like making a pumpkin pie from total scratch from plant to pumpkin and then pureeing it. Is it easier to just buy canned pumpkin puree? Sure it is! But it was still a fun learning process. I did the same thing with loofahs years ago. I always thought they were some kind of sea sponge and didn't realize it's a dried gourd until I found a loofah plant for sell and thought I'm going to try that!

It was honestly a long, messy and smelly process. Some sources online say it's easy to break the skin off the insides (the sponge) when it's dry, but I never had luck with that. It never dried all the way and if I tried to let it air dry with the skin still on it usually just got nasty and rotted. So I had to bake them in the oven and peel the skin off. It was messy and burned my fingers lol. And that was just to get the skin off. It was still a slimy snotty mess that took so many processes to turn it into the sponge you see in stores. It wasn't worth it to get sponges but the experiment and what I learned made it so worth it.

I have tons of other experiments just like that. And I'm always trying to do something else the following year.

I also love the bake/cook, but it has to be on my terms. And if I find a recipe I'm dying to try. I made a bunch of different soups/meals that I either made or found that were based off of some fictional story. Like the pumpkin soup from Twilight Princess. And that soup is so tasty! I'm going to make it soon again and freeze some batches for Christmas.

I also love to write and draw. Some stories I'm still writing for works I've created or collaborated with someone else. My hobbies shuffle around for what I am in the mood for.

i had a lot of free time as a child and tried to find many ways to fill it. i’ve tried painting and crochet, and others i’m sure didn’t stick.

the ones i currently engage in are sort of in the background. doing school and work unsurprisingly leaves little free time. i still sing and engage in music (though i haven’t picked up my instrument in years). when i have a lot of time on my hands i do video editing. i also keep a large greenhouse in my room for my house plants. getting back into school has also dug up my previous love for creative writing.

there are so many other activities i would love to explore in a couple years when my life has calmed down. i can’t wait to see all the things ill experience and create :]

do you by chance, have any pictures of your garden? outdoor gardening is something me and my partner deeply enjoy, we just don’t have the proper space for it. i would love to see your progress! i get so giddy about plants

Current hobbies would be reading, writing, walking, and drawing. Reading is definitely my biggest though, I swear I'm hardly ever not reading something

Honorary mention for doodling in physics class

Intermittent hobbies would be basketball (I'm lwk shocking at it so while I'm on the school team I just don't go to actual matches, just training), painting, playing video games, and photography

Retired hobbies would be singing, dancing (terrible at both of them lol idk why I ever did them), gymnastics, and lego. I miss playing with lego so much but I cba to take out the boxes from the garage to start again 🥀
