Reneigh really bothered me. I found her on a NMT and let her move in. I couldn't wait to get her out! I don't really know what it is specifically about her, but I'm just glad she isn't on my island anymore.

Huh, tomato elephant is actually one of my favorites of the new villagers.
I had to vote Megan, not beacause I think she's bad, but I just literally forgot she was a new villager. If you'd told me she came back from the Gamecube I would have believed it.

Judy for me, she just . . . doesn't look like an animal crossing villager to me. Her eyes are so unnatural and her gradient color scheme is really jarring; she looks like a plush toy from a mall stand. I don't typically hate the "cutesy" villagers but the cuteness feels like it's pushed to an unsettling extreme with her design.

i voted cyd just because i don't love the way his eyes and hair look, while the others i either really like or at least like a little. he seems cool, just not for me. personally, i don't get why megan and reneigh aren't as popular, they both came pretty dang close to making my dreamie list!

Looking at the results and seeing so many people voting for Judy is really surprising to me tbh! I kinda thought she would be like the new Diana when I first saw her but I guess her eyes are divisive to people? I think she's absolutely adorable though and if any of the cubs have weird eyes it's Stitches for looking like he used to have button eyes that some kid tore off her eyes make her look like a shoujo manga character, which I love!! I think that and her gradient design make her look really unique and cute and I loved her as soon as I saw her.
I wish that "I don't have one" option had been there when I voted because I still feel a little bad about picking Cyd lol, whoops. Also can't believe anyone picked Audie!

same! I predicted she'd be the most popular one of the lot when I saw the blurry image of the new villagers on the back of that decal. guess I was wrong. I think her gradient is absolutely beautiful and she's one of the most stunning villagers I've seen. I guess people prefer..... grey businessmen?
oh and also I really regret picking cyd. no idea why OP didn't add the option to change your vote, I'd like to change mine to "i dont have one" too because all of the villagers are at least decent imo. I think they did an excellent job on them, and I think a big reason cyd and megan aren't popular is because of their species more than their design. i bet people would die for a cat/wolf villager that looks like them lol

Honestly, I didn’t care for any of them other than Raymond. And I think Cyd’s design is cool! Surprised he ranked so low

yeah, tbh i love the elephants and they'd be in my top 10 species if i had to rank them but i get that they're not very popular and that's probably a factor! i only voted for him over megan because megan is more my personal aesthetic than cyd if i had to choose one. i also get why raymond is popular--the glasses, the heterochromia, and being the first and only smug cat, for example--but judy is so beautiful to me and i honestly thought everybody would want her in their cutesy pastel towns!
but yeah i totally get what you mean about species playing into it and i think being a cat and a wolf respectively also helps boost raymond and audie's popularity! i can just imagine if there was a red punk-themed wolf who says rockin', has a mohawk and a skull-themed house, and wears a dragon jacket, everybody would want him despite the fact that he'd be the 900th cranky wolf. and a purple cat with giant green eyes and cute little freckles who says sundae? i have no doubt that people would love her.

Probably Cyd. I like him well enough, but the others are just cuter to me. I'm also a bit biased against Reneigh as well though because my mother's name is Renee, and let's just say I'm not particularly fond of my mother. I love her appearance though.
