Thank you Lunatic and ravenkaw! It becomes so much easier to develop a decent garden when shrubs become available. And of course, pilfering flowers from island tours doesn't hurt. ^^ Bamboo is easy- it looks cool when it's cut down. Making more Western style gardens is something I find more challenging, because they seem more reliant on getting the right PWPs.

I don't like using tiles/patterns so I also create natural paths, usually lined with trees 1 space apart with a shrub in between, and flowers in front of those.. or sometimes just shrubs paths.

I always put trees surrounding all my villagers houses though & then flowers along each side.

I love dirt paths! I also like lining them with bushes, like the picture in my sig ^.^
