KK Slider not appearing Saturday night?

So my friend (yes actually my friend lmao) said he missed KK last night so he tt'd a couple hours back to get his free song. He said with tt KK didn't show up. Is there any known mechanism that prevents KK if you tt?

No special events, he usually doesn't tt, and if he does, he does same-day tt'ing.
Yes he has terraforming.
