Kinda disappointed Animal Crossing doesn't use the 'JOIN GAME' in your Friends List.

I check my friend's list more often than I do the train station. The console wants you to pay attention because of the blinking orange light.

Seriously, what's the deal here? Why didn't Nintendo make use of that feature? It was so seamless in Mario Kart..

Because AC has always had the set up of "Traveling" to visit someone and not just mysteriously appearing in their game, like most games use.

The idea of having to open your gates to allow visitors and/or taking a train (or bus) to visit another persons town fits the gaming style of Animal Crossing much better than just having random people from your friends list popping up and popping out when ever.

It would've been nice, but I think the whole 'Gate' idea is more private and you can invite one over without another one barging in.

I wish that instead of having the join feature we could see who's gates were open just by checking our friends list. I don't check my train station often either. The best friend feature kind of makes up for it a bit though since you can just exchange messages and ask for them to come over/open your gates.

Yeah, I kind of agree with the fact that this feature should've been added. The FC list consists of your friends, so you have an option to either have them on your list or not. There is also the option to have Best Friends only, so you're not completely exposed to your FC.
