Katie, as in the traveler? I didn't think people were "selling" her... It's not like she's stays in that persons town anyway, and people are frequently looking to drop Katie in other's towns for free on the ACNL online board.
She traded Katie for a Raccoon Wall Clock. Not like she's making bucco bucks here. XD

I know. I've just never seen anyone trying to sell Katie when there are usually a handful of people on the ACNL online board who just want to get rid of her. xP
well hey... we ended up giving each other all kinds of things. had a fun time. soo..... yeah!we're both happy, so why does it matter?
Because selling Katie is ridiculous, you gain from it by 1. the price you sell at and 2. the present from Katie the next day. If anything you should pay for someone to take her, which is equally as pointless.

3. Like I said before - we gave each other other things as well. It ended up being more than just what it looks like.
4. I only did it because I saw this thread and thought "oh, maybe someone will give me something for it" because I too did not know it was worth anything.

Not mad, more surprised than anything.
Katie is given out free since the only guaranteed beneficiary is the traveler who brings Katie. She's just never sold, this thread is an anomaly and was simply surprising. Everything else in the game is sold like crazy, but the concept of selling Katie is strange to people.
It's like trying to sell the ability to go visit someone else's town to go get signatures. The traveler is the only guaranteed beneficiary, and with sale the traveler just gets extra for nothing.
My only reason for dislike is the concept of selling someone else's service to you. I want to do some social experiments now to see if I can get a 7-11 to pay me to buy a slurpee from them.
