And say what villagers you have! I like learning who people chose.

I have a lot of ideas, but I'd like to make my island focused on my villagers. So like this is Apollo's area, this is Audie's area, etc. Villager focused vs general parks and dining areas.

I just got a bookshelf recipe so i'm gonna make so many bookshelves and have a beautiful library!
I'm thinking about making an Ethiopian themed island but i'm not sure. i've got to think on it.

I give each villager their own little space with items and colors/styles that suit their house colors and their own individual styles. I also choose two flowers to create a unique combination to decorate around their houses. I have Rudy and Lolly on a little cliff. Rudy has a bike and cat grass outside along with a throwback dinosaur standee (because he’s a jock but his house inside is full of green little kid stuff, like a train set and toys so I thought it would suit him to have something childish and something sporty). Lolly has a little picnic area with a book and a picnic basket. I plan on adding a little radio because she loves to sing.

I have Spike who moved in accidentally but I grew to appreciate. He has a lot of workout stuff for a cranky, so I put out a punching bag and some other tough/manly things. Henry the froggy has his house near a waterfall and has a lot of mossy rocks and a well nearby. I also made mum cushions to decorate around his house because they remind me of water lilies and he’s a frog... so... yeah.

Stitches has a bunch of kiddy stuff- I made him colorful tire toys and he has a cute little pool. I also drew chalk drawing around his paths cause he’s a bebe!! Tammi’s house is a work in progress but she’s near the beach and has lots of yellow. Same with Hornsby- a lot of blue but still in progress. I might move him out eventually. I also have Freya on a clifftop, her house is fancy with shell fountains and white iron garden furniture.

I plan on moving a few houses to figure out how to have more space but everyone will still have their own little areas. I don’t put my villagers into “neighborhoods” either. They’re all spread out in different parts and I think that’s more fun when walking around and finding each house and little environment. I do want to add more areas of interest in the future but right now I’m focusing on figuring out my best layout.

Edit: my that was a lot... sorry xD

I plan to use my island and villagers for world domination. They don’t know it yet and probably never will, but we shall succeed!
Ok but honestly my in game character is sitting in the living room winding down to Drivin’. 😂

Also I can afford to start tearing down some of my fruit orchard now and begin some more development up north.

The quarantine has been super hard on me and my fiance. We don't live together right now because of a bunch of stuff including my old jobs location, the virus, and the list goes on. Well, I'm making my town into a scrapbook of our relationship so far. : ) My partner has been nothing short of a miracle and I'm so grateful for them. So far I've only finished the front of my town which serves as an introduction to our story. I can't wait to finish the rest! I am carefully picking each villager to tell a different part of our story too. For example Raymond. I studied business and accounting. I changed his phrase and gave his room a makeover through gifts so his room looks like mine did when I met my love. I changed his yard too to include my favorite flowers and (very aesthetic) inside jokes. I feel like it's stupid and probably not what you asked for, but I'm so proud, and happy with this project.

I have the same/similar idea as yours - more villager-oriented but I do have dining areas, I just consider them "villager-run" in the way I lay them out!

I just finished relocating all my villagers to their plots and I much prefer this to having a neighborhood zone. They are spread out on my island with their own plot of land that's tailored to my plans for them. It makes my island feel more 'alive', in a way, to imagine they each have their own little area/workspace on the island.

My finished ones:

- Papi has an apple farm! This is where all my apple trees are, and I made this the rural area, with scarecrows, dirt paths, the silo, etc.
- Merengue has the cafe - I built her area so that cafe tables and chairs surround her home as if her house is the kitchen/indoor seating area, and the chairs outside are the outdoor seating area.
- Dom's house is very woodlands-y, so I surrounded it with cedar trees and mush furniture so it looks like he lives in the forest!
- Blanche's house is more Japanese-themed and her default outfit is a kimono, so I built the zen garden around her home, complete with the outdoor bath, and lots of bamboo trees for decoration.
- Mira's house is the diner, similar to how Merengue's is set up with the diner furniture around her home as the outdoor seating area.
- Marshal is one of two villagers with a "house"-house - I gave him an elevated cliffside plot overlooking the ocean with a pool and ample yard space.
- Felicity is the other one with a more residential home, her house is surrounded by peach trees (she was one of my first 5 so she has the default Peppy house, which matches peaches perfectly), and she has a little deck with the cute peach chairs on it. I also made her a plants person, so on her deck she also has a bunch of potted plants.

Planned:

- Goldie will have a tiki bar on the beach, selling coconut juice!
- Roald's house I'm not too sure yet - perhaps a sporty area since he is a jock!
- Fang's house is by the ocean and more secluded - my headcanon for him as a Cranky is that he is a grumpy old fisherman by the sea, so I'll be slowly decking his corner of the island out with fishing gear and fishing tourney rewards, I'm just too lazy to get those at the moment, haha.

And with this layout, I consider myself 'one of the villagers', so I live in the forest with Dom, but my part of the forest is more enchanted-looking, with hyacinth lamps and blue/white colored mushroom lamps matching the blue hyacinths around there!

So my original plans for Espera were basically a sleepy harbor town with a countryside and woods out west. My villagers would define any further flavor it would have. But truth be told, I feel like there aren't a ton of options for that sleepy harbor look. I look at my elaborate rose courtyard in front of RS and it's pretty but... it feels kinda flavorless. No real story or charm to it. And I'm not sure how to give it that charm. The beaches are also difficult to figure out. And the furniture available is kinda lacking I gotta admit.

So right now Espera is kinda themeless. The forest campground in the cliffs is there, the orchard is there, and so is all this other stuff I added pretty much just to get all the things. There's a random bamboo zen area, there's a concert setup on the northeast which has basically turned into like a beach resort or smth awkward, there's a plaza and a playground next to my tiny shopping district boardwalk, shell furniture on the beach... I'm trying to create more open spaces, but it's like moving pieces of a jigsaw puzzle around and the next project is always what I'm gonna do with the stuff I removed to do the last project. I'm sure as more stuff/features get released I'll figure it out eventually.

honestly I don't have any plans yet and I'm super hyped about that, I just restarted and I have so many possibilities ahead of me. I'm most excited to start villager hunting and landscaping though! I have so much open space again and need to plan out an orchard area for when my girlfriend gifts me some fruits!!

Edit: typo!

i'm planning on having an outdoor library, a little cafe, a stargazing area, mini piano island, a farmer's market, and i'm trying to map out where i want my villagers !!,

they're currently scattered all over my island. i think I'm prioritizing that first, since it's pretty hard to terraform when theres a house in every part. ;o;

also planning to try to make deals with people to get my dreamies, rosie and lolly !!

Most of my island is decorated already but I'm really excited to finally decorate my shopping area since I used to use it as a flower breeding area. I'm making space just incase more shops are introduced in the game but for now, I'll put benches, flowers and vending machines.

As for my villagers, I have my 2 ultimate dreamies, Marshal and Pierce and my new dreamie Chief! Otherwise everyone on my island is free to come and go but I've found I really love the wolf villagers (doesn't everyone? haha) The only problem is that so many of them are cranky that I've got an island of old dudes, but it's my favourite personality so it's alright haha

I currently have over 80 white street lamps in storage. I don't know what I wanna do with them but I want them everywhere~

And say what villagers you have! I like learning who people chose.

I have a lot of ideas, but I'd like to make my island focused on my villagers. So like this is Apollo's area, this is Audie's area, etc. Villager focused vs general parks and dining areas.

My island is built upon my villagers and I don’t have neighborhoods but rather areas. I have a Little Asia where Zucker and Croque currently reside. Maple and Stitches have a cute little cozy cottage forest area where they live and share a picnic area near the heart lake. Superhero bunny Mira Sailor Venus lives near the museum and the celestial area. Marina guards the lighthouse placed near the dock. My entire retail and flea market area is literally Blaire and Merry’s playground. Dom has a mini soccer field near the beach. Lastly, Marshal lives with me in our not so little three-tiered coastal area near the secret beach since he’s the only one allowed near my house. :)

i'm super into murder mysteries, so i want to turn my island into one! my ideas are pretty rough so far, but i want to write up backgrounds and occupations for each of my villagers on the bulletin board, so that all of them can be viable suspects. i haven't planned out my island in detail yet, although here's some stuff i have in mind:
- a cemetery
- an outdoor library—possibly a workspace for the detective, specifically
- a hidden hideout for black market deals
- a castle and french garden
- a diner, since those are often gossip hubs in mystery novels~ this will be run by frita!
- both ankha and elvis as villagers—a political assassination?
- no one true perpetrator—every villager has a possible motive!
- my friend remarked that the 10 villagers on the island reminded him of agatha christie's and then there were none, which is a really interesting route to take as well :o

i know it's super nerdy compared to the pretty ~aesthetic~ islands, but i just...really like mysteries ;w; super excited to plan everything out <3

I don't have too many set plans, but I do however, have this:

I don't wanna make too much of my town undertale themed (though it's really starting to look that way) but I had such a good idea I just had to put it into action.

In my house, all floors on the main level will be normal, but my top floor is going to be themed off the pacifist route and my basement is going to be based off of the genocide route. For the upstairs, I'm going to have the pacifist ending by making it look like all of the monsters are happy and above ground again, looking at the stars and in harmony. I'm going to have the zodiac set with other little worldly objects here and there, with the main characters (sans, papyrus, undyne, flowey, and frisk are already drawn and I might add Toriel, Asgore, and Alphys) hanging up on the wall in a row, similar to how the ending scene is. The basement is going to be super creepy and cryptic, basing everything off of the sans fight in the end of the genocide path. I'm going to have Chara and Sans facing each other on opposite sides of the room, with knives and bones everywhere. Not entirely sure how I'm going to decorate it completely. I'm kinda excited to see how they both turn out tbh

I’m saving up stone to create and astrological garden where I lay out 12 stone seats in a circle and display a zodiac fragment of each zodiac on there. Might also use it as a memory garden as well.

i’ve started decorating around one of my alt character’s house and am planning on giving her a flower garden along with the garden wagon and a pansy table with some
gardening tools. my other alt character will have a cottagecore/mystical forest backyard with gnomes, fairy rings, etc and i’m excited for those! my shopping district will have some seasonal furniture and maybe even the plaza if i relocate one or two of my villagers houses to make room ;w; i’m slowly coming up with more and more ideas for my island and i’m excited! i never did much with my new leaf towns as i never had any ideas so i’m thrilled to finally have a general idea of what i’m doing this time around!
