Just a general question regarding "Trading" Villagers.

Well, people have went and made threads such as Auctions, Selling and or Trading Villagers for other Villagers.
Well, I have a question, this'll be my first time I do a swap and I'm unsure how the whole procedure will fully work.

The question is split into two since I'm not sure how to filly word it as one question.

1: Will I need one of my Residents already gone before I can ask for the one I'm trading for to be moved to my town?
(Let's say if Flip moves away, would I then need to give him away and get this other Villager to move to my town?)

2: Otherwise let's say if Lucky is packed and ready to go (I'm actually going to trade him soon) would I just have to get the person who owns the Villager I want to come and ask him to move to her town and Time Travel him out right away and she'll do the same after I talk and ask her Villager to come to mine?

I'm sorry, these are probably really basic but I just wanna make sure before I go ahead and mess things up.

You can only have 10 villagers at the most in your town. So for you to be able to ask someone else's villager to move in you can only have a maximum of 9 villagers already living in your town.

That's pretty much how it works: Person A goes into Person B's town to collect their villager (who is packed up and ready to go) and convinces them to move in. Then when Person A's villager is ready to be collected, Person B goes over to Person A's game to collect their half of the trade.

However, a trade won't always take place in a single day. Some people don't time travel - so it can be a week or more before the trade is finished. It's best to verify before even starting the trade whether or not the other person is willing to TT (and make sure to tell them if you're not willing!).

As long as u have under 10 villagers, you can ask a villager in another town to move in, as long as they're boxed up

As soon as I have Octavian boxed up, you come to my town and go to his house and talk to him. Agree to him moving to your town and ur good as soon as lucky is boxes up I come to your town talk to him and agree for him to move to my town! And it's

We're both willing to TT to get them both to get packed up, I do understand the whole waiting procedure though.

I just wanted to confirm if I already have to had kicked out another villager and then they would send their bargain on to my way after asking said Villager to come to my town and then I would need to Travel to get Lucky out of my town and then they come to collect him and then I'd skip to the next day to get him on his way.

Also Ninja at Mama: I'll see who I'm also willing to give away to make room for Octavian.
I'll let you know when Lucky is in Boxes (Might take about an hour or two...I hope.)
