It's been a while (please help?)

Oh gosh, I looked at my activity log and I haven't touched New Leaf since August of last year. And it wasn't because I got bored of it, it's because my 3DS kept ejecting the cartridge and I didn't want my files corrupted! I was thinking of getting back into it a little bit, but I don't want any of my villagers to be gone. My town has always been a work-in-progress and I want to pick up where I left off.
I just want to be sure I'm doing this right, but will anything else happen if I time travel back to the day I last played? Is it okay to load up the day after instead? (From August 27 to August 28, for instance?) What's the safest increment of time to travel forward to current time?

i think you load up the same day so august 27th

As Utarara said, if you travel back to August 27th and load up, the game will be as you left it. After that, if you want to catch up to date, you only have to wait for someone to ping you and then deny the move, so that you can travel back to today safely. No one will have moved and you can continue as though nothing happened.

What I mean is that the system can't read the game card for some reason. The screen will black out and say the game was ejected, even though it isn't loose at all. This has been happening with two of the games I have, so I know it's not just my AC:NL cartridge.

Based on how many times this game has been popping in and out of my screen, it looks like it still needs repairing. =0(

if you do get it running again and time travel forward, just make sure you enact the beautiful town ordinance first so all your flowers dont die. also, it takes a day after you order it before it will go into effect, good luck!
