"Island" or "Town"?

What do you say more often?

lol. if they made another ac game in a few years and it were a city, you know i'd buy it but like i'd be walking around sayin' "yeah come visit my iSLaND"
Would be kinda cool tho. I don't think the AC series is ready to die just yet haha

Don't worry, in City Folk you couldn't actually decorate or edit the city, you could just visit. It was kinda like Main Street in New Leaf lol.

I call it "town" sometimes too but I usually say "island" because that's what it is (and to make it NH-specific).

im so used to saying town because of WW, CF, and NL that i end up calling my island a town too, i guess it’s just a habit since im not really used to having an island and it almost feels like a town somehow

heheh.
It would be cool tho if they made a game where you were the mayor of an actual city and you'd decide what kind of city and decorate it and all that garbage. A big upgrade from city folk xd

I say both, but usually town. I think that comes from playing previous a.c. games.

i almost always call it a town, but somehow it feels wrong when i try referring to my acnh island as a town

I never remember to call it an island, I'm too used to town from WW 😅 I also designed mine to be more urban so to be fair it feels more like a town than an island. and I still call the residents villagers for that matter

In New Leaf, I said town. In New Horizons, I say island. I sometimes mess up between island and town. 😄

I kind of use both interchangeably depending on the context or who I'm talking to. I probably say island 75% of the time and town or even village (idk why I do this, probably because of the term "villagers") the other 25% of the time.

I usually use island for New Horizons, but I still accidentally use town sometimes as that is what I used for New Leaf!

Town, old habits die hard. (you can bet I'm still the mayor, too I don't appriciate this demotion lol)

I try to say island, but I often default to town, lol. I've played every single game so I'm used to saying/thinking town- BUT ACNH is very different from previous games... and I was never active in online communities before ACNH. So I'm trying to differentiate.

I say both, but I think I say town more out of habit from playing New Leaf (on and off) for 7 years. The island theme is really pushed in our faces so I do use the term island a lot more often than I thought I would but I'm still so used to town and it flows off the tongue better than island imo.

i’m definitely more used to saying “town” due to how long i played new leaf for + how often i had to ask “your town or mine?” when arranging trades.

that being said, “town” only really slips out whenever i talk about the game irl along with me occasionally referring to my island rep as the “mayor” :P. but whenever i mention it online or arranging a trade, i’ve only ever said “island” aha c’:
