In order to start the game you need one Animal Crossing amiibo, to play the board game you also need one amiibo. For the mini games you need up to three Animal Crossing amiibo cards. If you buy the game in the pack they give you the bare minimum to play. Amazon had it on sale 50% off for some time and $5 off for the amiibo figures.

It seems the bundle is down to almost $30. Considering a typical amiibo goes for $13, you're basically paying $26 for the amiibo, $3 for the amiibo cards, and $1 for the game itself.

SIX cards, you need up to six cards to play a couple mini-games. The game also comes with TWO amiibo figures, and the 3 cards.

The game is not free you have to buy it from the store or online. Not sure what the priceing is when you buy it from online. But when you buy it from a store not online it is $60 hope this helps.
