Ohey guys, so read this before commenting, yeah?

I have travelled through over 16 months of my usual main town cycling method and Kid Cat REFUSES to budge..

I've tried ignoring him, I'm at top friendship level with him.. And he just refuses to ping about moving whatsoever

And as most of you know, I'm a veteran cycler, so the "it's random" does not wash with this one.. There's something else here..

But what on Earth can I do? I refuse to keep Kid Cat forever, resetting is not an option, and I'm not letting any of my other villagers move..

Maybe you gotta keep him because he loves you so much, buhahaha.
But um. Darn I'm not sure. To get out specific villagers I did the "find a villager who pings- tell em no, tt 2 days and do it again" until he pings. I've had trouble with people pinging constantly not enough, haha. Did you try the superstitions of taking their stuff outta re-tail?

I haven't, but I've had plenty of other villagers move away with their stuff in Re-Tail before (particularly in cycle towns where I just don't give a damn who comes in and out)

I'll buy whatever he has in there (unlikely there's anything of his in there tbh) and keep trying

Ignore him? Um.. Or just talk to him looooooads and get good friendship, idk..

If you haven't tried this already, fill up your items with just hats, go to the ocean, stay in the water and get stung by the jellyfish one or two times. Sometimes once isn't enough. Step out of the ocean, look around to see who pings, and they'll either ask you to change their catchphrase, ask for a new PWP, or tell you that they're leaving. If someone else wants to leave, obviously refuse it. Jump ahead by two days, lather, rinse, repeat until then. Have you tried talking to Kid Cat? I think ignoring can sometimes lead to them not leaving. I've tried several times with Punchy, finally spoke to him, and eventually he decided to leave.

Try talking to him until he has thought bubbles and in about two days I think someone will ping? The method doesn't guarantee it will be him to ask for a move out but I still got out one of my unwanted villagers that way :p

Hmm... Was Kid Cat the last villager to move in?

I'm not sure if it's true or not but the newest villager usually won't move, maybe?

Is Kid Cat your latest move-in? I read some thread a few days ago saying the 10th villager is impossible to move out.

I'm having absolutely no trouble with villagers pinging, trust me..

I've had all 9 of my other villagers ping to leave at least 7 times each (Rocket and Tom have both pinged 10 times)

Ignoring doesn't work, I'm at top friendship with him.. Nothing works at all

This is untrue. I've had my latest move in move first plenty of times before, you just need to have someone else ping before they do

One ping is all it takes

This method is probably a myth.. And frankly, deviating from my cycling method is not something I fancy doing.. My villagers are far too valuable to lose by switching up my method

Try to cycle differently? TT 2 days forward and 2 days backward. Walk around town and someone will ping. If not do it again, it worked for me with Claudia.

I'm in the EXACT SAME boat with a specific villager in one of my "real" towns. Everyone else has asked to move numerous times, yet he just WILL NOT ping regardless of what I do. I'm also an experienced cycler so I know that statistically he should have pinged at least once, but nope. Little guy just walks around flaunting the fact that he's still there. It's mildly aggravating.

I do have to wonder if there's some rare glitch that causes one specific villager to never ping, because it's completely nonsensical that this guy seems impervious to every known (and thoroughly tested) method. I do know that I won't give up, but I'm almost resigned to the fact that he's here to stay at this point. If you do figure out some way to get Kid Cat to ping, PLEASE pass it on to me.

I wish you luck in your quest, and believe me when I say that I definitely understand your frustration. :(

I had this happen to me with Freya, and she was from the campsite. I've had invites who were my tenth ping to leave without having to move out, but with Freya I couldn't get her to budge until I had someone else move out before her, unfortunately meaning I had to give up a dreamie. Was Kid Cat invitd via campsite or a streetpass move in?

Neither, I got him through adoption.. He was my next tenth that I wanted, but I've had him long enough now I'm ready to let him go, ready for my next tenth

There is no other way other than to get lucky.

The game doesn't have any rules for how it picks who moves out so it's purely probability. For example, if you have 10 villagers and you want one of them to move out then you only have a 10% chance for it to be them. There are no ways to influence who moves, specifically.

The only rules the game has for villagers is how they move in, not how they move out - except for the rule stating that a villager cannot move out if there are only 8 villagers in town.

Anybody who states ways to "influence" movers is completely mistaken and it usually comes from rumors/myths that started during the early days of New Leaf when not much translated information was available.

I am going with the random thing. XP

Simply because I tried for over a month to get Tammy and Ankha out of my cycle town... I cycled maybe 2 or 3 YEARS day-by-day.
Neither of them would ever ping or just show up in boxes.

... When tammy did FINALLY decide to move and pinged, I had to quit-open again about 5 times because every time I told her to move or bye-bye, she would change her mind. >.>

... I now really hate tammy by the way...
And Ankha was kicked off my dreamie list.
...
evil villagers...

Wow lucky... I simply cannot EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER get the last move in to ping... It worked with the first 3 villagers that moved in- Flo, Muffy, and Goose. Ever since then I can have them in there for years (I'm cycling too) and they refuse to ping. Once, Punchy had been in my town for about a year (in game) as the last move in, the day Kitt moved in, he pinged.
