Is there a way to lock villagers in your town in New Leaf?

I constantly have anxiety and nightmares about one of my favorite villagers leaving my town when I haven?t played new leaf in a while, and it?s already happened to a ton of my favorites and I genuinely cried over some of them and ruined my day so I really wanna find a way to try and lock them in my town so they won?t try and leave (it sounds kinda evil lol (/ω＼) I know there?s a way to in wild world so there?s probably another way In new leaf! Please share if you can and how you?re able to, and if there isn?t a way to lock them in, tips on keeping them from leaving? Comments are greatly appreciated (*＾▽＾)／

If you know you are not going to play for a while, stopping a villager when you last play will stop anyone from moving.

If a villager pings you, letting you know they intend on moving out, and you tell them not to, then you can keep all villagers locked into your town until you pick up your game and start playing again. I tried it myself and it seems to work just fine, though I still semi-worry about forgetting. Villager cycling is hell.

i may be wrong but wouldnt having all of their amiibo cards work? i thought amiibo move ins trumped the 16 villager cycle and you could just get them back immediately.

edit** also amiibo moved in characters are far less likely to move, as another perk.

^^ just to add to all this; if you stop playing without stopping someone from moving, write down the date that you last played and load the game back up on that date when you play again

My parents sint allow me to order stuff and i dont have a collection of amiibo cards (?з?)
