Is there a way to copy a custom design?

In new leaf you could make an identical copy , I was wondering if you could in new horizon?
I want to make a replica of a design I made but with a different color. I don’t want to start from scratch though.

there is! on the customs design screen press 'y' and it'll give you the option to copy the design
