Is there a fix for this weird visual bug with villager house exteriors?

I time traveled forward about 6 months (day by day by day, quite the grind) to get a thought bubble for Tangy, and before I was about to give up, I noticed that there was a villager in my campsite! Inside the tent was Ankha, and I took the opportunity to kick out Tangy once and for all. After another 2 hours of playing those stupid card games with her, she FINALLY agrees to kick out Tangy! I accept, of course, and set my switch back to real time and reentered the game.
When I came back, I noticed that Ankha had moved in, but her house exterior was the same as Tangy's! Not to mention, when trying to enter Ankha's house, I was met by the obligatory "I'm out doing dumb stuff, come find me" note, but she was no where to be found! I searched everywhere (yes even in the museum) and she was gone. At this point I was real scared, but time travelling a couple days into the future made her reappear no problem.
Her house exterior is still identical to Tangy's, but her interior is fine. I did some web surfing, and it looks like the reason this occurs is when a villager is forced out of their house, either by campsite or amiibo, and then you time travel backwards before the moving is complete, the house is forever bugged until you move them out. I was just gonna post this to see if there was a fix without moving out Ankha, because she is kinda expensive lol

Edit: Omg it turns out that Tangy's exterior was bugged AS WELL, and is IDENTICAL TO CHERRY'S EXTERIOR. So maybe if an exterior is bugged, it is forever bugged? This really gets on my nerves because I have Cherry again, and now I have TWO IDENTICAL HOUSE EXTERIORS. Pls help

this has been a known glitch btw sorry if that happened. the house exterior stays the same when you time travel back & didn't play with natural time progression when someone moves in.

it could also happen when you skip the move in day.
no fix discovered yet.

Oh, that sucks :( thanks for responding, and sorry for bringing up an already talked-about subject

But now that I am aware of the bug, I wanna see someone exploit it so every house exterior on their island is exactly the same lol

This happened to me…TWICE. And with Ankha moving in too. There’s not a way to fix it to my knowledge, so their exteriors will likely be bugged unless they patch it.

Awww that stinks, but an exploit would be hilarious tbh, like you mentioned. those raymond people would probably do it with his house

I still have Lolly living in Muffys house. I dressed her up in a ruffled dress and now I'm pretending shes a gothic kitty.

Lol but really I'm just accepting it for now until a fix one day arrives. Report it to nintendo so our collective voice gets heard, though.

I dont know of a fix yet but here is what i heard could cause it: tting backwards before moving progress is done, or tting forward a few days at once before the villager is fully moved in. If you want to tt at all while a villager is still going through the process of moving, then try tting one day forward at a time without skipping days unplayed.

That sucks :( you should never TT while anything is happening regarding villagers moving in or out. Some things in this game we learn the hard way

It's not the tting that screws up the house exteriors, it's the skipping the move in/ deboxing day on a campsite move in. You can tt backwards as long as you make sure you load the game the day they set up their house. I for one would be super sad if they fixed that glitch, bc it's a great way to have the villagers you want with house exteriors that match your island theme.

I prefer the original houses, so I won't be taking any chances because I've heard about all kinds of glitches in this matter. But TTing is always a personal choice

But like, you can also get the glitch without time traveling. Today you have pekoe in campsite, she kicks out Daisy. Tomorrow you have a lot going on and don't play, and you load your game on Friday. Pekoe might have Daisy's house exterior. Its not caused by tting.

The only real quick fix would be to use an amiibo for a villager you plan to kick out, have the villager with the wrong exterior leave, then use that villagers amiibo and invite them. Then progress the game normally until you can actually see their house.. (of course this won’t work if it’s a villager who can’t be invited via amiibo)
I’ve had it happen to me a couple times cause I was foolish with TTing and this method is what I did c:

It's a pain sadly, I avoid the glitch by skipping 1 day forward after the villager asks to move in so the house actually disappears so their exterior will appear when I skip 1 day forward again. As far as I know this always works, least for me it did.

That's not what everyone's been saying, but that's ok!

yeah it could also happen without tt, happened to my friend as well. TWICE. which is silly because it happened when he tt'ed AND when he didn't. it's basically when skipping the move in day. because you can tt 1 day ahead and nothing would go wrong as long as you play through the move in day

What also boggles my mind is that, when I have time traveled backwards after using the same thought bubble method, the villagers that were moving out made no progress whatsoever towards leaving the island. For example, after about a month of time traveling, Apollo decides to want to leave. I accept, and immediately time travel back to real time, but he is still wandering around the island. He still plans on moving, but he acts like no time has passed. Then I TT a day forward, he is in boxes, then TT back to real time, and he STAYS IN BOXES. But alas, as soon as I TT back to real time when Tangy is in boxes, the game bamboozles me! Super weird.

The silver lining might be that Akha's house exterior is a really awkward color--people seem to find it hard to decorate/incorporate into their islands without going all out w/ desert path yard & such.
