It's been our for some while now, {actually for like 6 months now} and I'm wondering if it's worth it.
I've been itching to get one since there are so many new games that I want to play on it.

I'm just wondering if it's really worth getting?

Unlike the 3ds it's not portable, and I can't take it everywhere I go. It also costs a whole ton *-*

Thanks in advance for any opinions!

Maybe....

I only reccommend it if you are a hardcore Nintendo fan, and/or you have interest in what the Gamepad has to offer.

Also, I want to give a few recommendations just so you will know.

PIKMIN 3 is great and even accessible if you have never played a game in the series before. The game's story mode is kind of short if you become really good at the game. However, Pikmin is a strategy game.

New Super Mario Bros. U doesn't offer much new in terms of the Mario franchise. However, it is a good game and it has some great challenges. Also, if you want an even bigger challenge and/or you really like this game, I recommend New Super Luigi U.

Super Mario 3D World is way better than 3D Land and it has a lot of stuff that you wouldn't expect to be in a Mario game.

NES Remix and NES Remix 2: If you have never tried the NES games featured in these games, this is the best way to do so.

Wii Party U: This is only worth it if you have people to play with. Also, it requires additional wii remotes per player for most modes.

Nintendo Land: This shows off the Gamepad in interesting ways and offers great minigames and a good challenge.

Game & Wario: Add here what I said about Nintendo Land.

Dr. Luigi: This is a great starting point if you have never played a Dr. Mario game before and interested in it.

Scribblenauts Unlimited: This is great if you have never played a Scribblenauts game before. There is also an object creation mode if you want to add something funny to the word system that's not there. Beware that the creator takes a bit of understanding and getting used to.

Wii Fit U: This game is fun, even if you aren't trying to lose weight or anything. Speaking of that, this game can be a bit mean and really inaccurate when it comes to that so don't pay attention to your BMI.

Also, try going to Walmart or Best Buy and see if the store has a working demo qiosk. There, you can try out Super Mario 3D World, New Super Mario Bros. U and Game & Wario.

Rayman Legends is another good one, and offers a great mix of levels. There's rhythm levels and stealth levels, on top of the sort of platforming you'd expect from Rayman. The game looks great, to boot, and the sountrack is really nice.

I hear Windwaker HD is also great, but we don't have the money to buy that, since we're holding out for Mario Kart 8, and eventually, the new Smash Brothers.

I'm personally really looking forward to the games coming out this year, because games on the WiiU look amazing. Super Mario 3D World is unexpectedly beautiful.

Not to mention that several GBA games recently came out on the VC, and before them, Earthbound.

If you only count version exclusive games there's only three games available for the system I would get

Mario 3D world
The new SSB
Mario Kart 8

If there was 5 or more games I'd might consider it, but as of now I don't see myself getting a Wii-U anytime soon.

If you like platformers you'll love it.

Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze and Super Mario 3D World are some of the best platformers in ages. If you're at all interested in Mario Kart and Smash Bros. I say get it because no one other studio makes arcade racers or arcade fighters are good as Nintendo. Well maybe Sega's All Star Racing Transformed.

I think it is...
The games are fun (most of 'em)
You can watch youtube
You can use this forum.
If someone wants to watch TV you can keep on using the wii u on the game pad
You can use it as a TV Remote
Mario Kart 8

I don't have one, but by the sounds of it I don't think it's worth it. I decided that I'd only buy one if the new AC comes out on it hehe. Which I think would boost it's ratings by quite a lot, considering how well New Leaf went down. I might also consider buying one if something else comes out on it that I know I'll like.
I can watch youtube videos, use TBT ect from my ipod touch and phone anyway.

Pretty sure that the WiiU isn't doing so well on the market, from what I've heard in most places.

Right now? No.

When the next Zelda, Smashbros and the new Oddworld game comes out? Yes.

I think it really depends on you. I mean what makes a game console worth buying is if you're going to get a lot of usage out of it. There's already Super Mario 3D World, Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze, Pikmin 3, etc. and there are only going to be more great games coming out: Mario Kart 8, Super Smash Bros., Bayonetta, X, the new Zelda, I even heard they were developing a new Animal Crossing for it already(?) but really it all depends on how much you expect to use it.

Edit: it's also fun to watch Nintendo Directs on the Wii U on my TV when I'm at home. Watched the smash bros one with it :P

It'll be worth it eventually (maybe as soon as next month).

Mario Kart 8 is a must have game.
Smash Bros will be out at the end of the year.
Super Mario 3D World is another great game.
Donkey Kong Country: TF & Rayman Legends would be great if you are into platformers
Animal Crossing most likely will be coming eventually (wouldn't be surprised after how much new leaf helped the 3DS)

But if i were you I'd wait until after E3 to see if they make any announcements such as (Price-Cut, New Games, Features, ect)

I think it's better with more than one person. But Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze is very fun! (And rage-inducing...)

I guess it depends, for me I wouldn't want it because I have exams to study for, and I can just barely cram in ACNL. Then again, I do prefer handhelds.

Ive put so much focus on the 3DS building up a library of every single games thats interested me.. idk whether to get the Wii U.. maybe

Its worth it,I love Pikmin 3,played everyone.I also love Wind Weaker HD,played the original.

Not really. It's not really worth the 300 bucks you'll spend on it, in my opinion. It has some great games, but the 3ds is much, much better.
