I think it's absolutely worth it. I love mine, and I don't even have some of the most-mentioned games in this thread (Rayman or Donkey Kong).
Nintendo Land is really fun, especially if you're having a couple friends over and you want an activity (I imagine it would be even better with a big group, but I only have so many friends). The console itself is nicely designed and the gamepad is very versatile. Wind Waker HD is amazing. I mean, I'm biased because I loved the original, but as a remake it's fantastic.
Also - this hasn't been mentioned yet, I think - it was worth it to me to support a company I love, because as Yui Z pointed out, their sales are not great right now. It's obvious that Nintendo put a lot of thought into this console, and so far their payoff has been Sony copying the gamepad's functionality via the PS Vita and mostly a lot of people trashing the Wii U without ever playing with one (after a launch campaign that was actively sabotaged by their competitors). I do wish the system specs were higher, but since most of the time I'd rather play Nintendo games anyway the trade off was, for me, very much worth it.
