Hey !

So, I was considering buying a Nintendo Switch just for New Horizons. I was a huge fan of New Leaf and was just wondering if the new game is really as good as everybody says!

Feedback would be huge since the game might come in handy during the quarantine. (:

i think it is. while there is certainly content missing, there’s always the hope of it being added in via updates in the future and until then, there is quite a bit to do; this game grants you more freedom than previous instalments and has certain little quirks about it that make it easy to love c:

Yes it's worth it.
It's nice to place furniture outside and have a lot more flexibility with your island.
There have been a few steps back: less fruit than in new leaf. Tools seem to break now unlike before.

It is 100% worth it.

It has stuff missing, it has new stuff. One thing is for sure though, it's a fantastic game.

I couldn't recommend it enough.

I'm a big fan of New Leaf and to be honest,I wasn't looking forward to new Horizons that much but It's been a lot of fun to play so far.A lot of people are complaining about things from past games that are missing and the different way some of the things are now done but you'll probably like it if you just play the game and don't compare it with any past AC games.

Yes and no. The game is watered down. A lot of content was cut and poor choices (like making the island roughly the size of the New Leaf town, despite Nintendo constantly saying the Switch is a console) were made in the development process. However, the game itself is by no means bad.

The game still has that traditional Animal Crossing charm that pulls you in and keeps you play. It's all I've been playing for the past 8 days, honestly. At the end of the day, it boils down to what I like to call "Eye Of The Beholder." Each person needs to judge for themselves if they think the game is worth it.

Some people will say the cut content is justified simply because the game still feels and plays like any other main series Animal Crossing title. Others will say that unless cut content is brought back through updates they feel the game is watered down to a point where they wished they'd waited for a price drop.

Personally, I think the game is worth playing but because of how many changes and how many things have been removed, altered or watered down, I kinda wish I'd spent at least $20 less on the game. Watch some YouTube videos, talk to people you know who own the game and make a judgement you think about the game. That's my opinion on the matter, anyway. (And yes, I know I'm going to get attacked for it, but if you're looking for honest opinions, this is mine)

Is it worth it?
Yes. But only if you are stuck at home with nothing else to do.

If you still have to go to work (like me) I recommend not playing it.
Why? Because the day feels like an eternity before the work is done and you're allowed to return home. Back to your island.

Yes! If you enjoy Animal Crossing and accept that there is still unknowns about the game(it okay to have worries/concerns/dislike aspects but I don't agree with at this point saying certain stuff is absolutely removed from game, when we still don't know for sure)

It is never worth it to get a console for only one game. However, the Switch has a fantastic library with a lot of really good games on it. I would say a system would be worth it if there is at least 3-5 games you are interested in playing. All of the Nintendo IPs are really good and really fun to play. Mario Oddessey feels the most like ACNH to me because of the collecting aspect.

That being said, I really love New Horizons. The island is huge and there is so much to do. If you do not like gathering and crafting, then I don't think you would enjoy it as much. I love gathering, collecting, and crafting. It makes the island feel so much more personal. I like that some things are limited on your island and it forces you to interact with people and trade items. The villagers feel so alive in this game. Much more so than they did in New Leaf.

It probably will feel like you run out of stuff to do fairly easily if you like to time travel and play the day fast. I could see someone getting burnt out on the game really quickly if they just finished all their little daily tasks and then went to the next day and repeated on a loop. It might not feel as worth it then. I'm not sure because I don't time travel, but a lot of the hate I see elsewhere about the game is related to that or similar to the one switch-one island-one island representative deal.

There is my two cents. Feel free to take it or ignore it. In the end, only you can decide if it is worth it. There is a lot of gameplay out there now that you can always watch and decide on.

It's a great Animal Crossing game, but you might not know what that entails with only one game under your belt. Expect a long tutorial, and understand how the crafting system changes a main element of the series.

Also the Switch is definitely worth buying, lots of great exclusives and many games you wouldn't expect on handheld.

I do think it's worth it for sure! But I'm not a tough critic and generally easy to please and entertain. There have been some people disappointed, feeling that the game is lacking content for their preferences but I haven't felt like that's the case at all! I've been playing this game for almost 10 days now and still feel super entertained by everything I have to do in it. I'm unlocking more and more things each day and even at this point it just keeps getting more and more fun for me

I got a switch just for animal crossing, but that's because I'm a massive fan and always have been. I would recommend it though! I love the game so much already, and can't wait to see what they add in the future. I'm so excited for bunny day!

Absolutely worth it. If I hadn't bought the switch on launch, ACNH would be a definite system seller for me. It's easily the best Animal Crossing game there is if you put nostalgia aside and I honestly could not recommend it enough.

I feel like it might be a little too early for me to say, but so far I think it's worth it. Even though there's a couple of things that may take some getting used to (like dressers being used to change your outfit instead of accessing your storage, tools that break and... well, the fact that there's a crafting system lol), and some things appear to be missing that were present in past games, there's been so many little changes that make NH a wonderful game. Villagers do so much more now than just walking around town, you can unlock a tool ring which makes switching between tools so much easier, running over flowers doesn't get rid of them... the list goes on. Not only that, but the game looks absolutely stunning.

it's okay! i like it, but wait and see what they do with downloadable content. as it stands all you can currently do is craft, decorate and hunt for bugs and fish. only 2 small shops and the furniture selection isn't as expansive as new leaf's was. you may be underwhelmed going in with high expectations. hope for the best and prepare for the worst as they say

I am loving it! I also bought a switch only for AC (and already got Mario Kart, Super Mario Odyssey, Mario Party and another couple of indie games :P ) and it's the best to pass time during this quarantine.

I think so! The tutorial is too long imo, and there’s a lot of features missing at present moment, but I am hopeful that there will be updates to add them back in the future. And the little annoyances I have could potentially be patched too.
