i've been considering opening one up so i could get some bells, star fragments bc this game has not been kind to me in regards to meteor showers, and furniture i'm looking for. but i feel like there's already so many opened up. :(

if anyone has one, is it worth doing? i feel like even if i don't get a lot of orders it'd be fun and give me something to do at least.

I think if you have the time for it, it could be worth it.
If you get a lot of orders it could be a bit overwhelming!
I'd say go for it though, if it's overwhelming you can always close it!

I was thinking of doing one since I made a little crafting area next to my airport! I just couldn't be bothered to write down every recipe that I can craft haha! I run a catalog shop from time to time and that's quite stressful and v time consuming so I don't think I could handle another one haha! Should be fine if you just open/close it for short periods of time so orders don't build up

I think it could be very profitable and fun venture as long as you enjoy it and don’t overwork yourself! :) Additionally, once you are successful, it is totally ok to close shop if you feel other priorities in life are more important. ;) I used to run a big collectible shop on here, but I closed it because I recognized that I couldn’t run it and meet my other obligations at the same time.

I know i typically prefer to get diys myself, though that's just a preference

Also i have a couple shops, and there's a point where orders do feel overwhelming, though a lot of the times it's because i feel obligated to complete them as soon as possible which is extremely hard when you have to order things without TT. Overall, i'd say shop threads are the best way to get what you need in game easily, just make sure you organize it well on your end!

Anyway good luck with it!

i think it could be worth it! it’s a nice way to profit and to meet people in the community. though, if there’s any advice i can give, it’s to maybe have an order limit (say 5 others at a time?) and to close the thread when you’re busy/unavailable/all order slots are filled so you don’t get too, too overwhelmed ;u;

Running a shop can be a great way to make money and trade items you don't want for items that you do. As other posters mentioned though, it can be overwhelming to organize and to set up, but it can be worth it!

At the very least, even if you don't have orders, you'll have a place where you can organize what items you are willing to trade and what you're looking for.

A good way to dip your toes into the water is by interacting with other shops first before setting up your own, if you haven't already. That can help you to get an idea of what some good rules of thumb of trading are.
