I have been chipping away at getting my dreamies for my main town, a all cat town. I have 6/10 dreamies achieved, but I was wondering is it worth the struggle to get them? I mean people take breaks from the game and the villagers could move out, then theres the tragic TTing mistake, oh and don't forget the dreaded void.
I lost Tabby, she was my favorite of the cats and I took a break and then... POOF she left me like that.
I cried, but I then achieved Kabuki. I am still sad but I will hopefully get her back soon <3

For me, it was definitely worth it. I had to let go of Francine (I didn't want to at first but I needed to kick out Whitney), but I was so happy to get Rosie and Phoebe. I'm especially happy that I got Phoebe because she's my favorite of the uchis and her house fits with the imperial gardens area in my town ^o^

I don't know.I am trying to get all the hamster villagers.I have 5 out of 8.I love seeing the 5 of them walking around my town. They are so adorable. But now i'm afraid of the chance that i could lose one.I'm being really careful, because i wouldn't be too happy if one ended up in boxes.

Well, it really depends on the person. If you are really careful and don't TT far ahead. A way to not get villagers to move out randomly is before you take your break, wait for a villager to ping you and ask to move. Tell them to not move. Until 6 AM the next day you are safe, and you can stop playing for whatever time amount you want.
In my opinion, yes it is worth it. It provides an interesting challenge, and plus you can get the characters you like!

Well if you don't play for a while, just TT back to the time you stopped playing and everything should be the same. That's what I did when I took a month and a half long break when I went to France. I then TTed one day at a time to catch up to present day and checked each day for anyone who would want to move and such. Everything was the same.
Just for the people who are paranoid though, you can always start with a new character and check around for any differences. You won't be able to get her back that soon though since you'd have to cycle 16 villagers, but good luck with getting an all cat tone. Honestly it's worth it in the end with how much effort you put into the town. It might be a pain now, but when you're done, it's gonna be so satisfying!

For me it is totally worth it. I am so happy whenever I see my dreamies walking around. Some I had to work hard at plot-resetting for, and others I was finally able to adopt. But yeah, totally worth it.

I haven't changed my mind about that even tho I have to be very careful to make sure someone doesn't end up in boxes. But now that I have more than one town, thanks to family members giving me their games when they didn't want them anymore, I can probably TT someone out I don't want as much and adopt the dreamie-in-boxes in if I have to. Still, I don't really want that put to the test! :)

It's pretty satisfying. I was one away from completing all my dreamies but then one day, Merengue suddenly left because I was TTing to get one out.. I tried to settle down with Marina because she was another cutie pie but I just couldn't..

its worth it for me , i finally achieved all my dreamies so now , i don't have to lurk and all that which is a relief from taking a break .

now i can focus on my dream town , perfect town , and my dream houses c:

For me yes

I develop attachments/relate animals to people I really like.
For example Marshal is my crush, so I do everything for Marshal
And Chrissy is my best friend I don't get to talk to much...
So it's worth it because I don't see my friends irl much anymore. ;w;

To me it's worth it because I've never lost a villager. Whenever I put my 3ds down, I always use the note app to put down the last day I played. I did come close to losing Beau once though. He didn't ping, and he had plenty of chances to. I found out he was trying to move through Flurry. Luckily for me, I found out so I spent the next hour and a half passing in front of Beau to get him to ping me xD

If you talk to your villagers everyday, and note when the last day played was, then no you can't lose your villagers. I've also never lost a villager to a TT accident, I've always TT'ed day by day whenever trying to get a villager out. It takes longer, but it's safer.

This is the kind of question that really entirely depends on the person and their preferences.

What you have to decide is if it would be worth it to you. Is it worth the frustration and sadness of losing one to get them back again? Does it really matter to you which villagers they are? So the question is basically if the struggle is worth it to you.

For me, it's worth it because I do get attached to the villagers and I like the feeling of a having a community that I'm all-around happy with, even if it takes time and effort to get to that point. But that said, my world wouldn't end if I lost one, either. Sites like this can help you find them again, or you could always have the room used instead for a dreamie you may not have had room for before.

But like I said, it's really different reasoning for everyone, because it all depends on how we each perceive the idea of 'worth' in having dreamies.

Well for me, yes its worth it. Specially since its something you want! Its just such a great feeling when you finally get something you've been wanting for a while. But I'm not really in a rush into collecting them. I still want to try and experience other villagers too before I settle with my permanent ones. I'm sure there are other great villagers and I wouldn't mind having some of them for a bit. I also have 6/10 of them achieved and kinda worried too about completing them all and someone moving out but its really part of the game. :P The only tiring thing is having to plot reset them ;A; I'm a really patient person but it gets really exhausting too. Specially since you have to talk to Rover over and over again. >.>

Personally I have 8 permanent villagers, and I keep two slots free to meet new faces. I like having my permies, they are mostly villagers I met randomly/in dream towns/saw them up for adoption, and then grew to love and couldn't imagine them leaving. I've never lost any because I'm really careful if I have to TT, I always make sure to take my time and not rush, and I keep talking to every villager so I don't miss a ping. If I ever had to take a break from playing, I'd make a note of the last date played, and then start again on that day and slowly TT forward to catch up. I think if you take a few precautions, you won't have to worry too much about losing dream villagers :-)

To be honest I feel like if you ever 'finish' your town... then there's not much more to do in the game. So for me, no.

Really comes down to a matter of opinion and the popularity of the villagers and the luck you get off of cycling threads and VTP. For me it was worth it because I started off with like a 3/10 or something like that lol.

It all depends on the person but, to me, I definitely think it's worth it. Getting my dreamies means that I'm getting villagers that I know I'll definitely grow to love even more than I already do & that I'll have a great neighbourhood in my town. I think it's such a great feeling when you obtain even just one of your dreamies! I think how long & the effort you took in obtaining your dreamies also makes a difference. It will feel so satisfying to get them if you've waited a long time.
Also, I feel that once you obtain at least some of your dreamies, you'll be able to work around your town & do what you want/make it how you want it to look knowing that your dreamies have obtained will never leave, therefore, the landscape around their house will never change. Of course plot resetting can be a big help when it comes to this so that if you do get someone new, you can choose where you would like them to live, but it's just a bonus in my opinion when getting your dreamies. ^-^

I do think it's worth it, the feeling you get when one of your dreamies moves in is just great c: I have one of my dreamies now and I can't stop talking to him! Haha.
